I "splurged" on some inexpensive lipstain yesterday to beat my rainy day blues.
It isn't quite as long lasting as my usual longwearing lipstick, but it does get bonus points for being just one step and not having the sticky gloss coating. (Some I've tried have a chapstick-like second step, others have a brush and glossy goop that takes a while to dry and still feels yucky. I don't mind the 1st kind except that it doesn't store in my bag well in warm weather, but I rather dislike the 2nd kind.)
I can't remember the name of the shade. It starts out a little darker and redder than I'd planned, but fades to a nice rosy color. As for being too red, I was trying to go a little darker on purpose because I've had trouble choosing colors--often, in the tube, they look as if they will go well with my skin tone but then seem nearly invisible when I apply them.
