last week i bought a mountain bike from an italian market vendor...just a 50 dollar piece of crap with bald tires and squeaky brakes...the front tire blew out as soon as i got it home...and the seat is a torture device...
but i love this thing...biking the city is so satisfying...
the bike is all part of my new plan to do my own thing... to stay out of the house as much as possible...
today despite the rain and drizzle i went to the gym and then the studio...
on the way to the studio i passed this show by philly photographer zoe strauss...
you know an artist must be dearly loved and respected to draw a crowd like this on crappy sunday afternoon...
i understand prints were going for 5 dollars...
there was once a large colony of homeless living in this "gallery space" through all kinds of weather...as you turned the corner on your way to 95 you might see a dozen our more cardboard shelters and sleeping bag lean-tos, a mini hooverville...several years back in the dead of winter on our way to work keith and i spied a woman pooping and carefully wiping her ass by the fence...the city soon after cleared folks out so i was suprised to find this hold out who napped through the whole show.
