[Guess which kid is being antisocial and hanging out outside because there's way too many people in there. This one. Soul can be found leaning against a wall staring off into space, arms tucked behind his head.]

[And there's someone getting outside. Poor Rachel wasn't invited, and she's not exactly Ms. Popularity, so nobody wants to dance with her. So yeah, she's outside too, looking fidgety and worried. Probably pacing a little too.]

[Soul kind of looks at her out the corner of his eye before looking away again. Not his problem.]

[sup Soul, Lauren's arriving now, not particularly pleased to be here herself]

You look excited to be here. [deadpan]

Having agreed to meet Tamaki at the dance, Rarity stood near the entrance to the Great Hall, all prettied up. The dress had taken her a while, but it was worth it; everything was perfect. Once people saw what it could do...! Rarity fought a giggle, her purple hair tied back in curled ringlets. However, just because she was waiting for her date didn't mean she was adverse to talking to people. Not in the least.

Tamaki arrived not too long after (he had to make sure his hair was perfect okay), and gravitated right towards her.

"Rarity!" he called, with a smile. "You look absolutely stunning, as always~"

Beaming, Rarity walked over, looping her arm through his as the other kept her skirt high enough. "You're rather dashing, yourself." She was so happy she found a date; she would have been fine alone, yes, but having a date made things so much more fun.

"Would you like to dance?"

Not owning any dress robes, Ellis had to settle for what you wore in Georgia when you had to dress up, as such, he was dressed in a red, button up flannel shirt, tucked into a pair of jeans and black shoes. In his hands, he carried a plate with a cover over it, courtesy of the kitchens. Inside were the waffles he had brought for them.

He stopped in front of the great hall and glanced nervously in Mulan's direction. He was so grateful to have a date, but this was new territory, and so he really had no idea what to say. Instead, he settled for just looking at her. Suddenly he was overcome with the sheer luck of his situation, and so he broke out into a shy grin.

He looked away so Mulan wouldn't see him staring at her. He didn't want her to think he was one of those creeps who just stared.

Mulan had to take a moment to wonder just how did she always find herself in situations like this. First, she somehow became friends with Kelly, a girl that invited herself to her home to criticize her show collection and "borrow" one of her tops (and she had yet to return it, she realized). And now, she had a date for the dance, which she didn't think would happen (something she was honestly fine with), and her date (Ellis), asked her after a very strange conversation about zombies and waffles ( ... )

Ellis looked back at her, hiding his smile in time to meet her gaze. Looking at her made his heart skip a beat. Gosh, she was so pretty. He had to hide a smile again, thinking about how lucky he was to have such a beautiful date.

"Sure!" he said, a bit too loudly. The two of them made their way in, weaving in and out of the crowd. Before long, Ellis spotted the food/drink tables, and being the gentleman that he was, he said, "D'ya want me ta get us some punch ta go with these waffles?"

Mulan let out a little laugh that she disguised as a cough when Ellis first spoke. At least she wasn't the only nervous one, even her nerves didn't come in the form of yelling.

"Sure," she replied when he asked her about the punch, trying not to laugh at how he noticed the food/drink tables before anything else. Not that she was complaining. She wasn't the best dancer, anyway.

Juli came down the stairs and headed into the dance hall while still holding a copy of The Pocket-book of Potions. He had busied himself making notes in the library before realising that the dance would be starting shortly and that he ought to make himself ready. Finding his dorm room empty, he quickly changed into a well-pressed and very neat set of dress robes - not too fancy, not too casual, and picked the book up again in an odd bid for security. He could sit in a quiet corner and read if he needed to, after all.

Not that he was really planning to, because that... was not what one ought to do at a dance. He sidled into one of the corners and picked up a small cup of punch before standing back to look out for familiar faces.

"It's a dance! You're supposed to dance, you know." Souji had taken it upon himself to make sure that the people who'd come alone were having a good time, especially the ones who liked to hide in corners and pretend they weren't there. What fun was that?

Holding his own cup of punch, he sidled over to keep Juli company. "You're new, right? So this is the perfect chance to make a bunch of new friends. Nice to meet you, I'm Souji."

Slightly surprised, Juli managed to catch himself and greet Souji properly when he approached - "Oh, hello," he said with a faint smile, "yes, I'm new - and I suppose that meeting people was half the point of coming down here - but now that I am, I've remembered I'm not often one for dancing."

Perhaps a little formally, though more out of force of habit, he held out a hand to shake - "my name is Julusmole - but please just call me Juli. It's nice to meet you too."

Souji shook Juli's hand, smiling at him. "You don't have to dance if you don't want to. I'm not all that good at it either. You can just hang out and enjoy yourself. What do you think of Hogwarts so far?"

Kanaya's lack of escort to the Spring Dance did not stop her from going, nor did it make her feel shy or unsure in any way. On the contrary, the Ravenclaw walked quite gracefully into the Great Hall, confident in her long green dress-- one of her own creations, of course, as well as the flowery headband and all the pearls and flowers decorating her dress-- as she scanned her surroundings, searching for familiar faces in the crowd.

While she wasn't feeling particularly nervous (there was always a slight feeling of nervousness, these days, ever since last Summer's events), Kanaya couldn't help but play with her necklace, thumbing it distractedly as she walked. Now, where were her friends...?

"Kanaya!" It was probably the tinest yell ever made by a person, more similar to the loudest cry a kitten could muster.

She was wearing the dress Kanaya had made her and doing her best to keep it pristine and clean. All these people were getting a little overwhelming, so it was good to see another friendly face. Especially that of her hospital-wing-buddy, since that meant Kanaya ranked in one of the incredibly small groups of people who Chrome was somewhat comfortable around in person and not just through writing.

Chrome jogged up to Kanaya, but had to pause to catch her breath once she made it over.

Even though the voice that called her name was quiet and very easily lost in all the noise surrounding them, Kanaya recognized Chrome immediately. She turned in the direction of the girl's voice and waved at her, noticing that she was indeed wearing the dress she'd made, and how well it suited her.

She walked in Chrome's direction but the other girl was already jogging up to her. "There is no hurry, Chrome, you didn't have to walk so quickly," she said with a friendly smile when they were finally close enough to speak; her demeanor was calm but she still felt a bit worried about the other girl, like she usually did. "Are you all right?"

Chrome smiled, her face colored a little pink.

"I'm okay. It's... scary, but also fun. I'm glad you're here."
