[ LONG, LANKY 23 YEAR OLD DAVE, just kinda standing in the middle of the Great Hall, looking calm, cool, and collected. In his hands, a pocket watch. ]

Huh. Looks like we've gone retro.

[ Tic. Tok. Tic. Toc. Muttering to himself, he says: ]

Whoever was in charge of time management three thousand seventy three days, twenty two hours, sixteen minutes, and fifty three seconds ago -- way to fuck up, retard.

[ Dave senses her presence, because he's DAVE and ninja like that. Slowly, he polishes his watch on the lapel of his tuxedo and tucks it neatly into his pocket. ]

Hey. I'm all up for entertaining lurkers and long-distance mackers, but that shadow shit is going too far.

As the door to the Great Hall slid shut, Juliet paused in her walk back towards the main staircase. She stood for a moment, head in her hands, for currently that was all she could do to hold back the urge to break down completely.

Why? Why was fate so cruel? Was this some sort of punishment, taunting her like that with a perfect life she would never know? Even though the memories of those ten years were blurred in her mind, she still remembered the warmth of them, the rapture and happiness of living in peace, making a difference everyday before spending her evenings with her beautiful children...their beautiful children.

The girl shook her head to escape the fantasy, it would only make her heart ache more. Romeo no doubt despised her now, would probably turn her in. It was all over, all because she had to fall in love with the son of her enemy. The pain, that was her reward for her selfish desire for happiness above her duty.

In turn, Romeo was walking to the main staircase as well- the next destination in his search for a certain girl. He wasn't sure why she was avoiding him, after a wonderful thing like that, but he didn't intend to let her stay away from him forever.

As he went into the Great Hall, he saw a flash of red hair out of the corner of his eye, and turned his head until he could see the girl fully.

"Juliet!" He called out, moving through the crowd to her.

The sound of her name was enough to momentarily make her freeze in place. The feelings she had been holding back where close to boiling over, and she was so tempted to turn and look at the owner of that voice...

If she did though she would break down, and that couldn't happen again.

She bit back her tears, and instead soon found herself running up the stairs, ducking into one of the corridors on the upper floors. She weaved in and out of the halls, hoping to lose Romeo in the process, then retreat to the safety of Gryffindor tower.

He had already began moving toward her, and as he saw her begin to run, he reached out to grab her scarf, her sleeve, her shoulder, anything- but then she was only a flash of red hair moving away through the crowd. No.

He ran the same way she had, pushing past people, seeing familiar faces blur past him as he struggled to keep her in sight, to catch up. Calling her name, he tried not to trip as he slammed into someone else, still racing towards her.

"Juliet, wait, stop! Let's at least talk about this, Juliet- Just listen to me!"

It took almost all her restraint to not turn and look back, or even to just stop altogether. Talking wouldn't fix any of this, it would only worsen things. Why he even wanted to speak to her now was a mystery, but she doubts any good would come of it. Talking to Romeo, getting to know him, that has caused this whole mess in the first place ( ... )

An instant too long, waiting for another student to move aside, and she was gone. Merlin, under his breath, and he was off in the direction he hoped- hoped- she had gone. Calling her name, he turned a corner, trying not trip and tumble to the side.

"Juliet, please!" Another corner, into a classroom- but the wrong one, and as he whips his head to scan the room, he slams a hand against the wall, hissing lowly. Spinning around and heading the way he came, to the next class down the hall, he heard a soft noise in the direction he was heading and took a long breath, relaxing as he made his way to where he knew she was.

"Juliet. You had to know you couldn't run forever."
