i find them both fascinating. i suppose you don't want me to go spouting off on it, but i think snape is still on the "good side". as for ol' voldypants as i like to call him, i think some of the most interesting parts of the new book are about his childhood... how he was when he was a kid... how he became who he is now. i want to psychoanalyze him... lol
6. What are your other passions/ fandoms excluding Harry Potter?
morrissey/the smiths. best.music.ever.
7. Who do you relate to most within the Harry Potter series?
off the top of my head, neville i guess. i know that sounds pathetic, but i just dig the way he's scared of so many things, and seems to have everything against him but always comes through in the end. i mean, i feel like thats how i am, stuggling constantly against myself to get anything done but managing, in my own way, to succeed
8. What is your favourite novel (ex. Harry Potter)?
probably right now the whole ender's game series by orson scott card. because i just finished reading it for the third time but also because it combines this fascinating story with really potent observations about the human race as a whole
9. Would you run for prefect or Head Boy/ Girl if you were at Hogwarts?
no way. too much responsibilities, not to mention i hate ordering people around. the stress would get to me
10. Who is your least favorite character - why?
malfoy. he's everything i hate in a person. he takes pleasure in the suffering of others and blindly follows the prejudices of his parents even though he has no understanding of the issues at hand. he's scared of voldemort just as much as anyone else but he puts on this facade of toughness and knowledge and... i dunno. its all so fake and pathetic.
11. What do you consider the key qualities of the four Hogwarts houses? (Describe why you think this and elaborate!
crap... ok...
Gryffindor: strong, brave, a natural leader, intelligent... but a little reckless.
Ravenclaw: intuitive, clever, very curious... the type that sort of loves learning i guess..(sorry this is the one i honestly know least about...)
Slytherin: Ambition. the ambition to go after what one wants most without letting anything hold you back. if it means stepping on other people to get there... well thats just too bad for them.
Hufflepuff: i always thought of hufflepuff as hardworking and loyal.. always being fair and whatnot... the most balanced of the four
12. Where and how would you like to see yourself (job, country) in a few years time?
hopefully as a psychologist somewhere. psychology is the most fascinating thing on the planet to me, understanding how things work and whatnot... a research psychologist actually... dealing with people in an indirect manner. i'm ridiculously shy sometimes...
13. If you were a teacher at Hogwarts, which subject would you teach and why? (Extra thumbs up for original submissions - feel free to invent your own magical subject!)
potions. definatly. chemistry is my second favorite subject, after psych... being able to create something from seemingly useless ingredients that can alter physical reality is a kind of power that i would actually enjoy
14. Would you be a Muggleborn (Mudblood?), Halfblood or Pureblood, based on your own personality? Give original reasons for this calculation excluding specific House Traits.
hmmmmm.... probably muggleborn. my family is pretty average, and neither of my parents went to college... i would be discovered, you know, plucked from the ranks of mediocrity
15. What improvements would you follow through if you were Minister of Magic?
probably i would make muggle studies mandatory, so people don't go around in nightshirts trying to pay with galleons or other weird stuff like that.. just basic stuff about how muggles live so witches and wizards will know how to act around them
16. What do you consider your most prominent qualities, either good or bad and why?
first off... i'm extremely shy around people i don't know well... i jsut get really anxious and can't think of anything to say. i consider myself reasonably intelligent... but something really important about me is that if i discover something that i enjoy i become obsessed with it and try to find out everything about it that i possibly can. i'm not sure if that falls into the good or bad catagory... so... an unequivically (in my mind anyways) good thing about me is that i'm a good listener. anyone can talk to me about their problems, or anything really, and i'll listen and consider what they're saying before i respond or make suggestions. people feel comfortable talking to me, or so i hear.
17. If you could change something of the Harry Potter series, what would you want to change?
how whiney harry was in book 5. i absolutely wanted to kill him. i know it was unreasonable and whatnot, but he was acting like a petulant child, and i don't like that side of him
18. Do you feel you can and will contribute to this community in an original way?sure do. i'm an internet addict. the sheer amount of time i put in to being online makes it almost impossible for me not to add something constructive every once and awhile
19. How did you hear of this community? a series of links that began from ejchristian86's friends page
20. Now is your chance: choose a house you would prefer not to be sorted into. (Include rational arguments, though.)
slytherin. i know it sounds cliche. but just... the way they completely disregard the feelings of everyone else in the world in persuit of their personal needs... ionno, i guess i can't see myself doing that. i'm too sensitive and insecure to be a slytherin.. everything, in my mind, is relative, so i'd never have the singleminded devotion to go after one thing at the cost of everything else. hope that made sense...
