Crazy Christmas Coming Up

Nov 28, 2009 20:59

Mom and Terry left today. I spent the morning with them. We went to the farmer's market up town, then to Goodwill, and then to Wal-Mart. After that we went to Tastee Freeze for lunch. Mike and Nick met us there, but Chris couldn't come. He was out deer hunting.
After lunch Mom, Terry, and I went to see my grandparents again. Time seemed to fly, and at 3:30 I was in front of my house, hugging Mom, trying hard not to cry. She gave me some money to "get me through this rough patch", and then she was gone.
I miss her already.

Something different happened tonight.
Dad made Mike, Chris, Nick and I stand in a circle in the living room, and I felt really stupid. Then he said, "Put your right hand on the shoulder of the person to your right." I put my hand on Chris, and Nick put his hand on my shoulder. "This is who you're going to buy a Christmas gift for." Dad told us, and there were a couple groans and a few giggles (from me). Then Dad told us that the maximum amount we could spend was fifty dollars.
He didn't set a minimum.
Oh well. Christmas is going to be weird this year. Can't help that.
It might actually be fun.
(Though I doubt it.)

I wonder what I should get Chris...
