Never having been inside a grocery store on Christmas Eve, I didn't realize how much of a clusterfuck it would be. And I had to go in not once but twice, because the first time I got all of my stuff and then realized that I'd forgotten the recipe for the double layer pumpkin pie I'm supposed to be making, and I had to go back. Similarly, the ABC store was bananas. I guess I wasn't the only person who wanted to add a little holiday cheer to my evening. That's the only time that I've seen them out of the normal-sized bottles of Kahlua, but I got hazelnut Kahlua instead and I'm pretty satisfied with that.

And now I've finished the pie (chilling in the fridge, and my dog is busily licking the mixing bowls clean) and all I have left to do is make a quick sweep with the other vacuum before I can sit down and relax till my parents get here. Right now I'm sitting down to lunch and I've got eggs and a few slices of my personal favorite bread from Montana Gold, the cherry apple challah. Yeah. It tastes just as good as it sounds.

Merry Christmas Eve, everybody!
