Yuto and Chinen stared in awe as they watched Ryuu solve cases with his sharp wit before they could even tear their eyes away from the television screen; Chinen told Yuto that there was a bit of drool on the corner of his lip halfway through the episode.

The last time they had communicated like best friends normally would was a few months ago, when work didn't keep Yamada preoccupied.

After catching a pair of juniors in a compromising position, Yuto calls out to Yamada, his voice echoing in the hallway, "Yama-chan, I guess we can't do it in the janitor's closet today - Yabu-kun and Shoon-kun have it booked for the next half hour."

The wall at that secluded corner of the NHK Hall was the wall with many firsts attached to its memory - Hikaru's first work of art, Taiyo's first head-on collision with concrete, and Yamada's first legitimate kiss with Yuto (surprisingly, it was Yamada who tried to pin Yuto down first before the both of them decided that it would be too awkward that way).

Yuto is amused at how conservative Yamada is during dance practice; sometimes, when no one else is around, Yuto tells him it's okay to take it all off (but they end up not practicing anyway).

Realizing that he can't drive anything with an engine without a license, Yuto calls up all the senpai on his contacts list to ask them to take he and Yamada to the movies.

It's not the paper cut that Yamada gives Yuto when he snatches that letter from him that stings; it's the interval between the time blood flows out and the time Yamada doesn't use to say sorry before he walks away.
