It has been a very long couple of weeks. I've been workin' my ass off; especially this week. I worked about 27 hours this week (a lot since I never worked this much before) and it drained me a lot but at least I'm making some money. I've met some very interesting characters at work: parents who've owned record companies, a man who suffered a stroke, and some parents that were just really cool to talk to. I'm supposed to be selling meal plans and they have us go out and "scout" parents while they're eating. I think it's terribly lame and rude to interrupt them and be like "hey, you like the food?! cool! buy a 2,000 dollar meal plan!" so instead I just start up conversation about orientation and their students and then we just talk about everything and its great...and I get paid for it.
I met a kid who is the same major as me, has the internship I wanted, is a horrifyingly over-over-achiever and has like all the time in the world to do everything he wants. Sadly, it's sort of been a driving push for myself to become more active in my schooling and take it more seriously. This coming Fall I'm going to try and run for a College of Sciences seat in the UCF SGA Senate. It'll probably be really hard seeing as I'm not uber-popular but I wanna give it a shot...I'll have two years to try. I'm slowly picking up my GPA. After screwing up the first semester and being at a very lame 2.9 I'm back over 3.2. I'm hoping to get at least a 3.75 by the time I graduate so I can hopefully get cum laude or something.
Tomorrow is going to be my first day off in like 4 long days of working and I'm not really ready for it. I've become used to working all the time. I also need help picking another minor for my International and Global Studies major. I've already got French but I'm not sure what else can supplement it.
List of things to do:
Change car oil
Check tire pressure and alignment
Fix the air conditioning in my car
Make doctor's appointment
Turn in citizen application
Get advising on my major, minor, and CLAST requirements
I'm starting to feel like I'm actually accomplishing something.
