Should have stayed in bed...

Oct 14, 2007 15:54

I went out birdwatching this morning with my co-worker Deb. It was a gray, cold morning (only 5°C) but the wind was very sharp and bitter. We quickly decided not to stay very long at the river (despite there being an interesting group of shorebirds on the mudflats and a great mass of gulls on the water) because the wind coming off the river was brutal. So we drove to the east of the city looking for Sandhill cranes (found them!) and raptors (found three hawks!).

It was only 11:30 when we decided to call it a day because I wasn't feeling well and the cold was killing me (the temperature, that is, not my illness). I realized then I should have stayed home in bed and, indeed, I did go back to bed and slept for three hours. I'm taking Benalyn Sinus and Cold Plus but I'm still half-stuffed up, half-sniffling which makes it difficult trying to breathe through my nose.

If I feel this poorly tomorrow, I'm definitely calling in sick.

I really, really hate gray overcast days and I really, really hate being sick.
