I hate being sick

The cold I brought back with me from Cambridge has sunk its nasty little claws into me now and won't let go. A sniffly/stuffed up nose, sore throat, and swollen lymph nodes along the right side of my neck are my main complaints. My tiredness and lack of energy don't help, either. Thankfully it hasn't gotten into my sinuses yet (which my colds almost always do) and the cough that I seem to be developing is a pathetic little cough hardly worth the effort. Thankfully, my colds rarely go into my lungs.

I can't remember the last time I had a cold, but it was a while ago and I know from experience I always feel really lousy. I'm getting to that point now. So, my question for you is this: Does anyone know of a REALLY EFFECTIVE cold medicine that will alleviate my symptoms? Or is that just a myth? So far I haven't found anything that really controls my symptoms, except Sinutab with pain killer when I do get sinus pain and infections. I need a decongestent that actually WORKS. Anyone??
