Happy Boxing Day, everyone. I had a lovely Christmas - visited with lots of family, did some bouncing from house to house, and finally ended up at my grandmother's (as it is every year) for the maternal side of my family's annual stocking-opening and chowing down. My marshmallows were very well received by everyone, to my great pleasure. I got to pick the theme for next year's food - I went with Moroccan.
As is my usual wont, a list of swag follows the lj-cut.
From a paternal cousin - little LED keychain light (he got these really cool magnets for Grampie, I will have to find out where)
From Dad - rent money (oh my gosh amazing)
From paternal grandparents - Sequence, Rummikub (they play it at every meal and I played it a lot with them while I was living there - I thought it was a very sweet gift, especially since I missed it), some cash
From Aunt/cousin/etc. on that side - Borders gift card (Dreadnought, you and I have a date)
From Grandma - neat box, Goo Goo Supreme, pretty green necklace, some cash
From a maternal cousin - elephant made out of green towels, plastic pony
From Mom (she had my stocking this year) - many socks, warm loungey clothes, underwear, pretty cat ornament, glowsticks, rose tote bag, feng shui 'cure' kit, rose castille soap, harlequin gloves (they remind me of the circus), beads, three pretty chopstick rests, rose potholders, floral hankies, Kuan Yin statue (it's very beautiful in the light), cross-stitched rose pillowcases (totally beautiful, she did them herself), a photo, Celtic mandala calendar
From youngest brother - sushi kit
From other brother - funky pen
(I finally had cause (since I had his stocking) to give him the John Freeman keychain I've had kickin' around for a while. I picked it up a few cons back with the intent of giving it to him, but never got that far. Sadly, the last Gordon Freeman was sold to the person in front of me in line, but even if he doesn't have his buddy, John has his wepon.)
I really had a lovely time. This morning I sampled bite-size cheesecakes that didn't get pulled out last night, and I watched waterfowl out on the pond. I also had a spirited discussion with my grandmother and one of my aunts, who is doing so much better (and also received an AMAZING gift from her sister - "my first voodoo doll" of her soon-to-be ex-husband). It was really, really great to see everyone.
