Found this in ze file. Cleaned it up a bit. Still like the concept. (I think I mentioned this once or twice to a couple of people.)

Notes: Is that a stupid reference? Why yes, I think it is.
It was an unusual battle, to be sure. Challenged by yet another of the Black Rose duelists, Utena had ascended to the arena. The challenger seemed very smug and full of himself.
One minute, she was drawing the Sword from the Rose Bride’s breast, the next, she found herself flailing for balance on a sea of skulls.
It was suitably creepy, lit only by enormous candles. Her opponent stood opposite, snickering.
“I’ve caught you in my world of illusion, pretty girl, and here, everything answers to me.” he said. Utena blinked.
A massive set of stairs stretched from the ground before her, disappearing into the darkened sky. The girl was highly unimpressed.
“I see that all the time. I climb that all the time.” she folded her arms.
The staircase lurched, and in a truly disturbing display of tortured architecture, twisted inward on itself and spiraled down into a vast, deep blackness.
Utena peered down at the inky dark. “Where,” she demanded, “do those go?”
Zakuro smiled.
