Looks like I haven't written since January 11. Hmmm, what do I remember? After Sally got the flu, I had to go in to ER on Monday. We both stayed home from church on Sunday. The same doctor that Sally had last week, was mine, too. He said he should have given us both the medication prescription, then. I basically slept most of that week. I would get up, and be so tired I would nap for two hours, then read email, and nap two more, then the same with Twitter and FaceBook. We both still have a slight tickle cough, but are doing much better.
We had a cold spell last week, down to 13 below 0 F with a wind chill of -23. That lasted about 4 days, then it warmed up, then it rained, then it froze, then we had days of snow. Colleges and schools were closed for a lot of the days in between January 21, Martin Luther King, Jr's day and through the next few days. Then this week, we got the ice on Tuesday, I believe and then snow for two days with no schools again.
I plowed one day and the plow would not go left or right and had trouble going up and down, so I checked after adding hydraulic fluid at $12 a quart, and found it was low. Then the next time I plowed it did the same thing and I found a split in one of the hydraulic hoses. Had to buy a new one for $32 and more fluid again. I was going to wait until later in the week to fix it, as this was Wednesday, but then heard of another storm coming, so did it that day. I am glad I did as I have had to plow two more times. Then today when I went to plow, the driver's door was stuck from the ice, but I got it open. Then I plowed and when I was done, went to get out and the door wouldn't open. I checked, it wasn't locked, tried again and still it wouldn't open. So I went out the passenger side door, and went around and pushed in the latch button and pulled hard, and the door handle came right off. It was too cold to figure out why it is not working or what broke, so I will have that to fix next time it warms up. Cheap plastic parts!
Tuesday we were going to go to Escanaba for clock work and some errands, but that was a snow day so we didn't go. We didn't plan for supper as we were going to eat out, but we did find something to eat here. Then Wednesday I was supposed to finally get back to my chiropractor and massage, last time I had the flu and didn't go, so now its been almost a whole month of not going. We were going to eat out in Marquette after, but again it was a really bad snow day, couldn't even see down our driveway, so we decided to eat locally. We went to Full Throttle Bar and Grill in Little Lake, only 3 miles away, and it was still pretty much a white out. They do fund raiser nights for different organizations and last night was for Big Brothers/Big Sisters. So we went and ate there. They have drawings, and other things to raise the donations. I won a free fish fry! Today we exercised, as we did on Tuesday, at Any Time Fitness.
