I still feel like such a failure when it comes to everything. I went to CPAC and Sunday. I had to bring home nearly everything I put on my table. I'm now stuck with 6 very large stuffed ponies. I probably spent more on supplies than I made. I hate that selling crafts on the internet is some sort of urban legend; I've never been able to do it. No

I am really surprised you don't sell better; especially when I know people that sell well, and tbh, they make horrible crap that I would be embarrassed to give away free. Your keychains look cute.

Lolitas don't really wear the maid/headband things as much anymore, so maybe that's why they didn't sell out.

Your skirt looks really good from the back; you can see all the detail you put into it there. And it looks well-constructed.

But I don't know, if the fanart is accurate to the official art, then you had mid-length curly hair; the character had long straight. That's a little thing, but there's a million anime girls with pink hair and schoolgirl outfits. There really is nothing to distinguish that character from any other, except the little things like exact accurate hair style.

Like, if you look at Hungary (who you cosplayed, right?) she has a much more unique design... there aren't that many brunette anime girls that wear long green old-style dresses with aprons.

It wasn't the headdresses that I'm worried about because they didn't really cost me anything to make (plus, I amde them for last year's con). It's that I made a bunch of large MLP plushies and only sold one. I guess MLP isn't big anymore... I also made some jewelry which didn't sell. The materials cost money so that was a blow.

The thing is, I'm a huge K fan so all the outfits are burned into my head. It's hard for me to get into the mindset of someone who casually enjoyed the show, I guess. I think the uniform is very unique and that's why I chose to make it. I love the ruffles. But anyway, the first time I worse it, I even carried a cat plush with me ): I also made sure to add the tiny details that make it like the collar and anklet. I think the thing for me to keep in mind when I go to a con is that all the other attendees are the enemy. They just are too different from me. It's a shame but that's how it is.

Hungary is nearly indistinguishable from both Suiseiseki frm Rozen Maiden and Suu from Shugo Chara, actually. :P

Yeah, the wig was probably the problem re; the costume. Unfortunately, yeah, people do expect your wigs to be as accurate as possible for any given cosplay you do. Which sucks because wigs are expensive, but. Yeah. The actual costume looks great, though. It may also be the show itself; I've actually never heard of K outside of you talking about it. Even moderately popular series can be hard to get attention for cosplaying from if the costume isn't super intricate and impressive, let alone something newer that isn't a huge hit. Like, I get the feeling that, if I were to successfully make a Maou costume from Maoyuu Maou Yuusha within the next year, not many people would recognize me

K is big on Tumblr, though. That's how I found out about it. The No.6 fandom was excited about it when the trailer came out because the main guys from K look just like the No.6 guys.

I sell my ponies for $30 but go down to $25 if someone wants to haggle. I mostly make side characters like the Dr.

Eh, big on tumblr doesn't necessarily mean much, though. Honestly No. 6 isn't even that big, compared to an actual huge fandom like Madoka Magica or Fate/.

That's weird then. That's pretty cheap for MLP plushies, and the right side characters usually sell. May I ask who all you made?

How about Psycho Pass? Is that big? I mean since it seems Urobuchi's series tend to be hits. Other than that, I guess APH is still the only blockbuster anime that I like and even that is waning in popularity. When I try to cosplay alternate outfits for Hungary and Belarus, it falls flat just like my K cosplay :|

I had: Derpy (as a pillow pet/large beanie baby style), Twilight, Flutteshy, DJ, Dr., Rarity, and Lyra (all as normal shaped ponies). Only the DJ sold and it was to a girl who buys from me every year (I call her my biggest fan lol).

Your cosplay looks really good. I love the skirt. (But, I don't recognize the series ^.^0) The only think I can think of is that you just must not have ran into the right people. Sometimes it's hard to find people in the same fandom. Even if the fandom itself is popular.

My cosplay have gone either way.I've had a couple that were really popular; but, then, I also have a tendency to cosplay obscure series or obscure characters in popular fandoms... But, on the upside... I've learned sorta like being unrecognized since it means I can sneak around faster and not have to deal with people during Cons? (One year I was Sophie with a life-sized Turnip Head... I couldn't shop. I couldn't go to panels. I couldn't sit down to eat. It drove me nuts. I finally shoved it at my Dad to hold and then he kept on getting stopped for pictures

When I was Madotsuki from Yume Nikki, I was trying to get to the end of the autograph line to meet the VAs and I kept getting stopped for pictures so much that I had to have my friend hold my spot at the end of the line because I couldn't get to it XD It was pretty fun. But I've never gotten stopped as much as you described. I think that would get old fast.

I don't have any cons that I'm selling at for the rest of the year actually, except for maybe one local con (the local cons only get about 50-200 people) I have to be careful where I book tables since I don't make a ton of money, I can't afford $80 tables lol I think I'll just stick to the local shows next year too. Unless I do cpac just one more time to get rid of stuff and not make anything new to bring. It's a year away so I'll have to think.

Well, I would have been Anna, but then I was afraid people would think I was a generic lolita. Plus, I'm too tall to be that cute. I'm sure I would get more attention if I cosplayed as guys, especially since I'm tall and skinny, but I just feel weird whenever I try it. I feel so much more natural in a dress

I just feel weird when I cosplay male characters though or else I would just do that. I feel so much more confident when I put on a dress lol

The one time I did get a lot of attention, I was actually wearing a turtle neck lol (Madotsuki from Yume Nikki) But I think it's because I look 100% like the character (I used my real hair because it's the perfect length and color. Some girls who do her with their real hair don't have bangs and it's like nuh-uh)

I think the thing in the AA is, people most want drawn art ad I can't do that, as much as I want to. I just do what I can.
