Happy New Year

Well, christmas has been and gone, as has new years. I've had a lovely holiday. Got to visit Weirfield for a while and do things with my time. Been with Skep and played computer games. Got presents, most of which I love; including Squishy my new hamster :D On christmas day we had my mum's family over in Lincoln which was a lot of fun. I don't se them very often and they're a lot of fun. We opened presents and watched TV and in the evening we played Pictionary, which was funny cos nanny kept getting wound up :x

I felt ill from the 26th, meaning Brook had to drive us down to dad's in the evening while we all listened to the CDs Cyan and I had got for christmas. I continued to feel sick until early on the 28th, but recovered from that quite well after a day full of sleep. Got to play with kittens and talk to nana and grandad and thing. Was nice seeing them :) They're great grandparents... though it gets a little weird that we're getting old enough to have adult 'jokes' thrown at us, sometimes :$

I met up with Jenjen on the 30th and we had a dinner party thing, initially planned to have a DVD marathon but ended up playing Cranium, which was a lot of fun. I was sorry I had to leave but I was driving myself, Cyan and Zak home the next day and wanted to make sure I slept well and wasn't going to be hung over! So I made my excuses at the early hour of 3am... was allowed to sleep til about half11, lol. The night was a lot of fun, though. Jen's Uni and Northwood friends are an interesting mix of people... I think that's the best way to put it. Very entertaining when all put together :3 They all seem to like me being there, too, which is nice :) And Jen and I only JUST lost Cranium and I blame that on her being drunk ;) She wasn't doing very well at 'pictionary'...

Then new years I had Skep come over, then we both went over to pick up Alex and were planning on going to the Homestead near Skep to play card games and drink a bit before New Years. It was also planned that we would meet Katie a little more officially, but it turned out she had better plans, despite being the one spurring Alex to arrange the meeting! In the end the Homestead was shut so we went back to mine and played card games, then turned to snacks and looked through board games... which are all surprisingly dull if there's only three of you! Some of Cyan's friends were outside waiting for her to come back so we'd occasionally be interrupted by them, too... which was nice. *grumbles* It didn't actually bother me on the night, but when you think about it it'd be nice if I only had to host my own friends...

We welcomed the new year in watching the thing on BBC, with the friends of Cyan who I didn't actually know, lol. They all eventually realised that I'm not scary enough to avoid if you took into consideration that I was in the warm room! I was playing Viva Pinata, which I'm really enjoying, but find it a shame that I don't think I have a way to transfer files yet :( The game takes so long to set up and get to a genuinely enjoyable stage that starting it AGAIN on Skep's Xbox would be painful and boring...

The since then I went round Skep's last night and finished Overlord (well, the main storyline bit, I need to work through it again to find the objects I've missed) and we had Valentinos for tea, which was naughty and tasty :D We also watched some of "The Class", which seems a bit 'blah' at the beginning but you do get into it once all the characters have been built up. Kat is awesome! I love her and her fashion sense...

Today has been getting Pica fixed up (the guy had the nerve to say the bumper's insecure! Dad's used at LEAST three rolls of duct tape on that thing!!!), met Skep for lunch and tried to find out where one would get cover slips for microscope slides... turns out not many people really know... so I'll be asking at Weirfield if they'd be able to buy some in if I pay for them... I dunno. I'm actually terrified of doing my dissertation to the point where I'm barely able to start... scared of it not working and me looking like an idiot and failing everyone :/ It'd serve me right, but I'm gonna hate it so much... *fingers crossed* If I can get some results and write them up then explain what I did and why and how... it should be ok. Or that's what people agree with me will happen. No one ever corrects me til the worst possible moment... I look forward to it...
