Proof that the word is not getting out, only 2 people on my friends list made mention of the content strike in the last 24 hours.

For the most part, people are ticked that they weren't told about the change before it happened. Actually, the users weren't told about it period. Someone found out about it in the FAQ or something. Then, on top of that, SUP completely ignored the advice of the Advisory Board, who told them that getting rid of basic accounts was a bad bad idea AND didn't realize that SUP was moving forward with this decision. They thought that it was a "What if" type of question posed to them and not a "We're going to do this, what do you think" type. This pretty much negates the entire purpose of the Advisory Board.

As for removing the basic accounts themselves, the reason most people are mad about it is because now there is currently no way for a paying user to create additional accounts without ads all over it or paying for the new account as well. So people who participate in RPGs or (in my case) just like having separate journals for separate things (I, personally, have three LJs), are forced into ad-driven journals despite the fact that we already give/gave money to the company.

I don't get the strike thing though. I don't think it'll work and I'm not participating in it. It's not going to have any sort of effect at all.
