Proof that the word is not getting out, only 2 people on my friends list made mention of the content strike in the last 24 hours.

So I've read the basics. I've read the Stuff said by Nosik. Thing is I am still missing why people are so upset (oh noes ad free LJs are gone! -_-), nor can I understand how the content strike could be considered blackmail by Nosik. The wiki definition of blackmail sheds no additional light for me.
So please leave me your opinions and thoughts. I'm curious and a bit confused by it all.
