buffy season 5

today i saw four episodes of buffy in a row. i feel kind of worn out. the fifth season was incredibly emotional and i cried so much through it. even though i never really liked buffy's mum all that much, it was terrible and shocking when she died. i was impressed by how well "the body" episode was filmed. also, i was overwhelmed by how great sarah michelle gellar is in the role of buffy. she made me feel so totally sad when she was, and then in the next episode she was perky robot-buffy. the final episode had me totally distraught! i couldn't believe buffy died in such a selfless way. it was really heartbreaking when i heard what she had whispered to dawn before she jumped. it was also very sad to see spike cry like that.

my favourite episode was "the replacement" when there were two xanders. anya said she wanted some alone time with both xanders, which is totally what i would have said too! i really like anya a lot, even though i'm crushing on xander. before i started watching buffy, the actors who play spike, angel and xander came to my town to meet the fans! in a way i'm kind of glad i missed it because i know i would have, like, cried over xander like a fan girl and it would have been really awkward. the whole season was regenerated by xander, anya and spike. they always made me laugh and i like them like they're my own friends.

even though i agreed with spike's description of riley as "plank boy", i was sad to see him leave. he was a really nice person, and just wanted to make the world a better place for people to live in. i think willow is getting really cool now she's super powerful and she doesn't get all smug about her capability like buffy can. tara is like willow's wife, but i like her very much.

giles as usual was dependable and reassuring and kind. my favourite line of the series was one of giles': "i jump out of the circle and then jump back in it, and then... i shake my gourd."
