I'm even farther behind the times. I tried to get Bob to rent it last night but he didn't want to watch it. He wasn't in the mood. Our therapist mentions the movie, too, so I must find the time to watch it - with or without Bob. I'm very intrigued. Have you found other sources referencing studies?

Yes, you should watch it. It's so very much about what we've been talking about in covenant group the past couple of weeks. I think it also has relevance to work with oracles (cards and runes and stuff). I was thinking of bringing it up in covenant as a future activity.

so i haven't actually seen this movie yet, but after my mom came home from the theatre raving about it, i looked it up online and found reviews w/info similar to the one at the following link, a couple of paragraphs of which i've copied and pasted ( ... )

That's interesting. I could see how some of the stuff could be taken out of context, but I totally disagree with the reviewer. All of the people in the film were well identified at the end. They did little cuts of them talking about their degrees and positions and research, it also lists their names, degrees and major publications on the screen while they talk.

Of course it's new-ageie, they've got some woman channeling an ancient spirit! But, I think that's the point. Science brings up these questions, we should think about them.

If you get some time, watch the movie and then we can argue about it:) Oh, you may HAVE to watch it. We decided to do it for covenant group...

i heard this rumor from david, whom i saw at schlotzsky's downtown yesterday. i do think i ought to see the film myself, and doing so in cov. group, while i at first wasn't thrilled at the idea, would probably be a good venue--even if i end up being the one person among us who doesn't care for the flick.

We need a few cynics in the group to keep our feet on the ground! David was our western realist when we were reading lots of budism. I look forward to hearing what you think.
