Midwest Furfest 2009 - Con Report
MFF was a great con, as usual. I still hated hallway-hotel, but thankfully it looks like MFF is going to be a swaaanky con in a new hotel next year. I can't wait! Free airport shuttle, actual lobby / hangout space, and hopefully bigger event rooms! I will be going next year to see the new duds. I believe THIS is the hotel? Correct me if I'm wrong. Looks really nice! We already have a room, too. XD
All in all it was a successful con. The dealers hours were a bit long for my tastes, and I really felt like I missed a lot of the convention. I only suited once! D: So it wasn't a part con for me, but I felt as if I made a loooot of money. Perhaps not as much as I did at AC, but this con I was a bit more responsible and only took as many commissions as I could handle at-con. I'm proud to say that I finished every commission and didn't come home with a lick of homework. MFF has always been one of my favorite cons but sadly this last hotel sucked it up quite a bit. This was my 4th MFF, I believe. And it marks Sophie's 3rd birthday. :o
As for random con tidbits / shoutouts:

All in all, a good con. I almost don't want to do the dealers there next year, simply for the reason that being open until 7pm is much too long for me. I missed so much. MFF might revert back into an artists alley con... even what with me being spoiled by being a dealer. I dunno. I might get a dealers table next year. It was all right. Good sales! That's all that really matters. Yesterday I got home, worked, and this morning I'm up and packing for my Thanksgiving trip! I leave in a few hours. Yaaay. -.- Too much traveling. I'll be sick of it all come next week. I'm gone until Monday, I think. So emails might be slow to be answered. Sorry! D:

- My phone broke the FIRST night in Chicago. The power adapter connection inside the phone snapped and was super wiggly. No charge = no phone allll weekend. :(
- I ate at Walk Bros. (best breakfast place EVER) twice. Once I got an omelette and once I got eggs Benedict. :9
- Went to semjay and taren_'s engagement dinner. It was lovely and Sema's parents are awesome for picking us up from the airport. :)
- Sat next to marymouse in the dealers. I'm more than sure I'm on her "do not sit next to" list. <3
- Made a Lion King murrrrsona. See HERE.
- Was judged by a monocle'd sandwich.
- Got to meet lots of new people!
- Realized that jaggers is not a feasox but instead a gay weasel.
- Got drunk Sunday night and had a BLASTY BLAST.
- Pilfering everything in sight with colley
- Had to room with two dirty, dirty border collies. kargowolf and calleedog. :O
- Roomed with a slightly cooler cat-who's-scar-came-from-falling-in-the-kitchen. ( _patches )
- Was baffled as to WHY we needed badges to get into the dead-dog dance. CON'S OVER, ASSHATS.
