We're all alright.

I'm moved in. Roommate is good. Room is good. Woodgrain paneling on the wall plus 70's green futon. Very retro. Extremely hot, though. I'm on the top floor and my bed is lofted. I sleep with a fan in the bed with me. Literally, in.

It's been an okay week. Homework hasn't been too heavy yet, and I haven't scheduled my field placements yet so I had pretty much all day Tuesday and all day Thursday off.

While I was at the bookstore I checked out what books were on the syllabus for the Eng. class I had last semester and picked up on called My Heartbeat. So I spent all day Tuesday lying in bed and reading it, and it was fabulous. The entire day spent reading, and the book itself. I'm in love with one of the characters, James. Make that fictional character crush number 2751.

There were a lot of "welcome" activities this week. I played Bingo and won a glow in the dark puzzle. And I went to casino night, but just got my chips at the door and cashed them in for tickets right away. I'm not much of a gambler. I was hoping for the digital camera, but no such luck. I also went to see a group called Recycled Percussion, which is similar to Stomp. What I could see of it was pretty cool. Everyone was standing, so at first I was trying to take video so I could show people I knew would think it was cool, but eventually the holding the camera up and viewing through it became a necessity because I literally could only see one guy's head otherwise.

I went to Movie Gallery tonight. They give anyone with a BGSU student id $1 off any movie rental- very cool. I rented On a Clear Day, with Billy Boyd, which I haven't watched yet. I also rented Love, Ludlow. I had been thinking of getting it for a while, since it's written by David Paterson. This is, of course, the inspiration for and son of the author of Bridge to Terabithia. So I had been wanting to check Love, Ludlow out since he wrote the screenplay for the Bridge to Terabithia movie, and I'm pretty excited and skeptical about it all at the same time. (Side note: Brige to Terabitha movie poster debut.) But I also purchased Roseanne: Season 4 last week (my favorite season), and there was a "grown up interview with Lecy Goranson, the original (and better) Becky. She looked and sounded sooo different, that I decided to google her and lo and behold: her weblog. It's pretty boring for the most part, but it did mention something about Love, Ludlow, which I didn't realize she was in. So that made good reason number 2 to rent it. It was pretty cute. Not excellent, but cute. Ludlow was played by this guy called Brendan Sexton III. I couldn't find a picture of him, but he looks like...a way cuter David Spade. Actually he's not that attractive, but there's something about him that is fascinating. So I think I'm going to watch Boys Don't Cry, which has him as well as Alicia Goranson.

I applied for a position working the front desk. Which would be very cool because I could watch tv or do my homework depending on the time of my shift. I hope she calls tomorrow.
