I'm not sure if it's a good or bad thing that I didn't know about fanfic when I was younger. I suppose that depends on how much you think the world needed a Pern/G.I. Joe crossover.

16. It's kind of a hybrid. I always start with a route in mind, but will adjust course along the way as other ideas occur to me, or as I consciously pick up on other connections that were only subconscious to start. Sometimes, I'll have the feel of about 75% of the fic with a big gaping hole in the middle. In that case, I'll jump right in. Most of the time, by the time I get to the hole, I've figured out how to deal with it. Oftentimes, that part ends up being the best part of the fic.

And they can apply to either writing or art, (so "artist(s) you admire" and "do you plan to do more than fanart?")

I often think that success in the arts is more a matter of stubbornness and opportunity rather than skill and talent (especially when I see some of the movies that get released, or read some of the books (*koff*50shades*koff*) that get published.
So keep producing your art, and good luck finding your opportunities.

11. Yikes. This is a tricky one. I would have to say it was some semi-RPF Bohr/Heisenberg fic I wrote several years back. (Semi because it's for the play "Copenhagen," so more like RPF once-removed.)
15. Crossovers! Especially drabble one-shot kinds of things. They're a great way to indulge little flashes of inspiration whether cracky or completely serious. I also keep getting ideas for long, epic crossovers, but I know better than to start 90% of the ones I think of.

I...confess I may be glad about the dearth of Boyr/Heisenberg fic. And I hear you on time and motivation.
Thanks!

One woman said little throughout the meeting, although she was clearly paying attention. She sat well back from the table, ankle resting on her knee and her head lolling against one hand with her fingers covering her mouth. Her dark, asymmetrical bob made her appear to be leaning at a much steeper angle than she really was. From time to time, he saw her cheeks lift as one statement or another amused her. The only other reaction he spotted from her was a barely-there eye roll when the conversation turned to hair-splitting minutiae.
