Last night Sergio and I went to see
Jose Gonzalez at the Aladdin. It was a wonderful show! Previously while listening to his music I enjoyed it as pleasant background noise, but after seeing him live I'd like to actually listen to him. His lyrical content didn't strike me as incredible, but he sings like an angel and picks some mean guitar.
Earlier Friday Hannah blessed me with her presence at Stumptown downtown. It was nice to see her, as it always is, and omg I had such a good cookie. And before that (I'm writing in backwards chronological order) I went to see my dad to lend him my digital camera, which he will use to catch his neighbor who steals his Sunday paper. Now that's drama.
I feel especially awesome as of yesterday because ALL of last week I felt like death. I had a continuous tension headache accompanied with neck and back pain and a sore stomach. Wtf? Talk about totally lame. My improved health has contributed to improved spirits!
Tonight I'm going to see some more live music at an annual Columbus Day house party with its roots in geekdom. Oh yes.
Sergio and I are going to Texas in two weeks. His cousin is having her quinceanera so I will meet his ENTIRE FAMILY. Am I nervous? Yes. Excited? That too. It will be fun! The only other places I've "traveled" to are Washington and California, and the parts of Washington I've been in have been those that are just extensions of Oregon. I'm thinking about going to Seattle pretty soon, which is supposedly just like Portland except bigger and with more hills. I want to see for myself, though, and it's exciting to contemplate going somewhere different, even if its just so in the slightest!
