I just spent the night celebrating TWO YEARS in new york with the best group of friends a guy could ask for. sentimental, yes, but so true. i started the night after work with a dinner at miracle grill with one of my best friends (and roommate) tito, and then headed over to v's place to have a very welcome impromptu dance party with the gang. oh, and before that? we watched "howard the duck" - which, by my clock, i haven't seen since 1989! that movie is fucking insane! when the villian (don't remember his name; he played the VP in "Ferris Bueller's Day Off"...) sticks his tongue out and then ignites it on the car cigarette lighter - well, there you go. the root of all my childhood nightmares.
but tonight was a dream. we went to great lakes and spent most of the evening gawking over this couple making out at the bar. and since it's spring, and we're all so ridiculously hard-up, we watched and provided a running sardonic commentary on the whole charade. eddie and i went out for a smoke, and the couple was walking out of the bar. i heard the guy utter, "glad we're leaving, babe, that bar is full of geeks."
