Some times, babies make looooong nights.

Even if they don't mean to. I'm pretty sure Aiden didn't mean to get sick and cranky. He just happened to be that way most of the night. And despite my assurances I could handle little Mr. Grumblepants, Ali insisted on staying up to look after him. Until she fell asleep in the rocker at about 4 in the morning. Asleep so hard she didn't even stir ( Read more... )

"I... uh..." He blushed a little. "I, uhm, cut them off..."

Now that he said it, his actions seemed kind of silly. His desire to get his wife feeling better in one the the best ways he knew how sort of overrode his common sense.

"I thought you might have," she said as the giggled burst free. It was silly, but it was a good kind of silly. Her husband's brand of silly was always welcome.

"It's alright. I wasn't especially attached to them. And I enjoyed the result of being depantsed." She winked at him.

Longshot let out a big sigh of relief. He didn't think Alison would get mad at him, but he didn't want to ruin her morning at all. He gave her a lopsided grin.

"You still got no pants on. It's a good depantsing."

"I agree. The no-pants-er the better." She smiled at him. And kissed his nose. Because it was there for the kissing.

"I can't see myself getting upset at you over a pair of underwear. Unless they were on some other woman... then I might." She grinned. "But, you can remove mine any way you choose."

"Why would I be taking off some other woman's underwear?" His brow furrowed as he tried to figure it out. It wouldn't be for aesthetic reasons. Most woman would be beating him on his head if he tried to take their underwear off.

Hrm.

Oh!

"But if they were on fire, would you get upset??"

"Well, I hope you wouldn't be..." She answered. Then his fire question caught her off guard. She actually had to stop and blink for a moment.

"You mean if the other woman was on fire? Or if her underwear was on fire?" She blinked again. "In either of those cases, yes... I suppose it would be okay."

"Her underwear," he clarified. "If it had been just her, I'd throw her into a pond or something."

Though selective clothing fires were unknown to him, he could see them happening. Possibly while running in corduroy pants. Falme up from the thighs, maybe?

"In that case, I would not get mad if you went to her rescue. I always said you were a hero." She could hardly get mad at him for acting on that instinct. Even if she couldn't imagine what circumstances would lead to that situation. Of course, she never put anything down as impossible when her husband was involved.

"You are free to rescue any distressed damsels you see in burning underwear."

He felt around Alison's butt. "Well, ma'am, you're safe. You seem to be lacking underwear. Up, up, and away!"

Except he was to relaxed to get up, up at the moment. Give him some time. He'd be ready. Also, he might have had it ingrained about Alison needing some rest time...

Alison laughed and wiggled back against the grabby hands. It was always a matter of time from when she was naked to when Longshot's hands found their way to her butt. "So it seems."

She snuggled down against him and nuzzled his neck softly. "I love you to ridiculous, little bits. You and the babies mean absolutely everything to me."

"Hmm. If I'm little bits, how do I get you pregnant again? I mean, Aiden and Hana would have a hard time getting siblings if I was little bits." Unless they were sporty little bits. Then it might be possible. Longshot hummed as he tried to puzzle it out.

"Oh, I'd put you back together again. That's part of the fun. Snuggling you to bits and then fitting everything back where it's supposed to be." She grinned up at him.

How did he manage to be that cute every single day?

"Hana and Aiden will get their little brothers or sisters. I promise."

"Ohhhhh! That works! Nobody knows how my parts fit together better than you! Well, maybe Dr. Crusher, but that's a different kind of how things fit together." He snuggled his wife and grinned.

"They better! Or else, Daddy's been lying since our anniversary." Not that he was telling stories of what they could do with siblings. No...

"I've spent lots of time exploring your parts," she agreed. And more snuggles! She could stay like this all day.

"Have you been telling stories, Daddy?" She grinned. "I want a story!"

"Mmmmmaybe a little," he replied. Then he wiggled. He didn't know which one! The little ones got a different story each day. Mostly because Longshot couldn't remember exactly what he told the time before.

"Let's see..." He hummed thoughtfully and tapped his chin. "Ah!"

He snuggled in and began. "Once upon a time, in a biiiig wooden castle of fun, there was a king and queen with the sweetest, most lovable twins ever. To celebrate the one year anniversary of their premier, the king and queen decided to make the family more extra special. So, they did! Happily! And the twins got a little sibling who looked up to them and followed them around. Except into the bathroom because sometimes, that really stinks. And this little sibling would always be the bestest of friends and would play many games with the twins. And then they got a magical bus and toured the kingdom bringing the queen's music to the peasants. The end."

Alison listened with rapt attention to her husband's story. If he was entertaining their babies with it, she wanted to hear it, too! She awwww'd and laughed at all the best parts. Her hubby was a good story teller. No wonder the little ones paid such close attention to his voice.

"I like that story. Very much." She grinned playfully. "You left out the best part, though."
