Some times, babies make looooong nights.

Even if they don't mean to. I'm pretty sure Aiden didn't mean to get sick and cranky. He just happened to be that way most of the night. And despite my assurances I could handle little Mr. Grumblepants, Ali insisted on staying up to look after him. Until she fell asleep in the rocker at about 4 in the morning. Asleep so hard she didn't even stir when I carried her up to bed. I left her there sleeping by the monitor as I went back down to check on my wee little son. If I had totally removed Aiden from her awareness, I thought I would have two crabby family members on my hands.

I had planned to go over Mom's place and get my present today, since I got the day off from training with Makoto, but Aiden being sick made me push it off. Hana was the picture of fine health, so she got to spend the night with ichiban grandma! Since Aiden was being understandably loud and cranky. Thank goodness we kept those bassinets once we put the twins down in their cribs. Now, Aiden was sleeping fitfully but staying asleep.

In a couple hours, Haha would hand Hana over to Asuka and come up to check on Aiden. Ali and I had been doing what she told us, too, but it hadn't seemed like it was working. Maybe I was doing my part wrong? I dunno.

I settled back on the rocker of comfiness and waited for the next bout of Aiden waking and crying.
