It's a migraine day!!! Nausea and everything. 4 Excedrin Migraines have made me feel almost human again...

1. Job Stuff:

Three interviews coming up: April 1 (yes, tomorrow), April 4, and April 11. The first two are second interviews, the last is a hit from the job fair earlier this month. Islandia, NY (Long Island), Oradell, NJ, and New York City, NY. Busy, busy, busy... I could easily work for any of the companies based on the type of position I'm interviewing for, but still having a little trouble getting too enthusiastic about them...

2. Wedding stuff:

a. Found out yesterday that the two weddings I will be attending in September are happening in the same weekend, but not on the same day. How lucky is that? Brian and Lynn are getting married on the 10th of September, and Katie and Mo are getting married on the 9th. This is pretty cool, since I didn't even realize until this week that I would even be invited to Katie'e wedding, and then freaked because I wasn't sure if I would be able to go. What if they were scheduled for the same day? I mean, I was practically RSVP'd to Brian's wedding as soon as we found out they were engaged. What if they weren't in the same weekend, and Chris and I moved airplane-distance away? I love it when life works out conveniently...

b. The party for Megan and Jay (the elopers from October) will probably not be this weekend, even thought it's as close as we can get to their six-month anniversary. Don't know when it will be, but Megan and I had a short discussion this morning about stuff-to-do for it , whenever it happens. Chris and Chris have offered their apartment for the event, but not planning services. I've taken that side. So, we are probably going to do a sparkling apple juice toast (Meagan doesn't drink alcohol). I also suggested that since Black Hound (a pastry shop near school) does mini versions of most of their cakes, we could buy one regular-sized cake and one mini cake and stack them for a quickie tiered wedding cake. Megan seemed to like this idea. :) She then suggested we make a seating chart for the party, just for fun. "OK, now, you get to sit on the arm of the couch on the left side, you get the beanbag chair..."

c. Everyone I know who is getting married is registered at either Bed Bath and Beyond, Macy's, or both. Rob and Kim: Macy's, BB&B, and Cooking.com. Brian and Lynn: Macy's and BB&B. Monica: BB&B. Katie: Macy's. At least I know where to go for all of them...

3. Time Wasters:

There is a program that has been installed onto the "Staff" computer in the Computer Center called "Progress Quest." Don't know who downloaded it, don't know where they got it, don't care. It's really funny. It's a sort-of role playing game, but you don't have to do anything. After you set the "initial conditions" (which I don't think actually affect anything in the game), you start it, and it runs. There are no graphics, unless you count the various "status" bars. The window has six frames: Character Sheet, Equipment, Plot Development, Spell Book, Inventory, and Quests. There is a status bar at the bottom of the whole thing that tells you what you are doing now, and how far along you are. Mostly is it "executing" things. Once the status bar fills, you get something relating to the thing you just "executed" that goes into your Inventory (executing a Gelatinous Cube gets you a Jar of Gelatinous Cube Jam, worth 1 Gold). Under your Inventory, there is a status bar called "Encumbrance." Once that one fills, you "sell your loot" from your Inventory. Eventually, you go up in level, get spells, buy equipment, and finish quests. All of this happens automatically. I click on nothing; I just read the screen for amusement. I'm already a Level 3 Talking Pony Voodoo Princess...

4. Shopping:

I need to go and buy a nice coat today. Probably going up to Burlington Coat Factory this afternoon. With three off-campus interviews coming up, I need a nice coat to wear over the suit. Presentation is everything, right? According to the radio, it's supposed to rain tomorrow, too. So, perhaps a dressy rain or trench coat is in order... We'll see what they have when I get there. For all I know they only have light stuff for spring and summer, even though it's still a little chilly outside...

interviews, cucc, friends, shopping, headache, wedding
