in communist China, you don't have Facebook...

...and no, Facebook doesn't have you either. So don't expect any reaction from me if you post on my wall or make rude comments at my beautiful pictures.

Also, Google starts up exclusively in Chinese, which I still can't read most of.

And yout00b also doesn't work, thereby shooting down the other 75% of why I find the internet entertaining. So I guess I'll have to find other means, oh well. One thing though, the Facebook ban really isn't so bad - I've actually sent like three earnest e-mails today which is the amount I'd probably send in two weeks back at home.

So e-mail it up, people! fallacy13@gmail.com is waiting for your warm words with arms wide open.

Though Shanghai disappoints in cybertainment, it totally makes up for it in other ways. I don't think I'd realized how much I missed waking up at 6am to buy random breakfast items dripping in oil from street vendors. I also fully realized how much I'd missed the freaking gargantuan grapes which actually taste like something, but it was great eating my weight in them anyway. I call them Concord-lite grapes...they're so freaking delicious.

Ifind that running on four hours of sleep from the weekend before doesn't exactly make the plane ride pleasurable - being semiconscious for 20 straight hours, including on the taxi back to my grandparents' house wasn't exactly fun - it does make the adjustment slightly easier. But I'm still on my usual just-got-to-China schedule of wanting to sleep before 10 pm and waking up at 5. At least I can be sure I'm not going to miss the Solar eclipse on Wednesday!

Though it's mostly a product of jet lag, being accustomed to waking and sleeping early has its perks. It was like 10 am and my family and I had already accomplished our main task of the day which was purchasing 7 pairs of high-quality eyeglasses for the equivalent of maybe 300 US dollars.

And after I get accustomed to this delightful 98-degree all-day sauna, we'll talk some more. :)

sleep deprivation, food, facebook, china, scorching, yout00b
