 George Carlin, one of my favorite comedians, died yesterday. I had the pleasure of seeing him live at UConn in 1971, in Hawley Armory (at the time, the girl's gym!!).  This was right after FM/AM came out. His commentary on marketing was priceless (underleg deodorant for women!!). Class Clown was his ultimate work ("I grew up an Irish Catholic, now I'm an American....you grow!") And of course, the SEVEN WORDS YOU CAN'T SAY ON TELEVISION (CAN YOU RECITE THEM FOR US, BOYS AND GIRLS?).

Just saw his latest special on HBO, still funny but grumpy.

His trenchant commentary on the world will be missed.
