B-day ponderings

Well, it was a day I guess.  Not my worst birthday at least.

Nothing much happened out of the ordinary ... got up, took Molly to Sunday School, ran to Sam's Club for stuff we're running low on like detergent, dog treats, and a few other things.  Went to Mom's to take her the computer and set it up.  So far a pretty ordinary Sunday.

Mom came back to our house around 3 bearing a beautiful hanging fern and a big fat gift certificate to one of the local plant places.  I made it a point to show Mark - he wasn't terribly enthusiastic, since he know this means I'll be filling the house up with greenery.  We then headed towards the PA border to try a new restaurant - Hallo Berlin.  As you can tell, it's German cuisine.  I've had a hankering for sauerbraten for months now, and decided since it was my b-dat I'M GETTING MY DAMN SAUERBRATEN.  Definately worth the weight - everything was delicious.  Molly had two wursts, Mom got rolled steak stuffed with veggies, and Mark and I had sauerbraten.  Everything came with spaetzel (noodles), cucumber and green bean salad, and two types of saurkraut.  The red cabbage kraut was made with sweet apple wine, and was awesome.  There was also a lentil soup that was fantastic.  It's one of those "special occasion" places (aka fantastic, but too expensive to eat there regularly), but we'll definately be going back.  Mom really made my day by bringing me my plant.  It's hanging on the front porch at the moment, but I'm probably going to move it back inside.

Raegan has made more messes the past 24 hours than she has in her 3 months of life ... we've discovered how to leak through our diapers.  Of course, not changing her for over 6 hours (she was nice and comfy-dry all that time) and her suddenly turning into Niagara Falls was probably a factor.  I'm so glad I put extra outfits in both diaper bags.  She's also guzzling her formula, and decided that burping is against her religion.  So you can imagine how that ended up.  One time she was laying on her activity mat and hit the mirror over her head (about 8" up).  Wow ... never saw puke quite that intense before ... and hope never to again.  Currently she's feeling much better, and vibrating in her chair.  She's having quite a conversation with something about a foot over the top of my head.  Alright then ... guess I've been reading too many Sylvia Browne books lately.  0_o

So I'm 41.  Yay ...  at least it's a quiet night.  I'll get both girls ready for bed and bathed, and just chill out.
