So yes, if you aren't sick of reading my entries today is the big event, the RARE event at Diablo. I hope everyone comes out and has a great time!
I am happy to report this is week 4 of going to the gym. I am getting used to getting up early. And Terri gave me a notepad so I can track all of my calories and manage my eating habits better. This week was great. I am starting not to be as hungry for junk and have cut down on unecessary calories quite a bit.
Over the last few weeks I have lost a few pounds, so I am making progress, but in a slow and healthy way. I am very optimistic about everything! I say summer, here I come, because in those months I am going to kick some serious fat. In three weeks I am going to step up the workout to include some strength training too... That is going to be a challenge but I am eager to take it on!
Work is busy and stressful. So much on my plate right now and trying to get everything done and done quick and done right and then the follow up, workorders and files and it is all so overwhelming these past two weeks. I haven't been able to take lunches and that is impacting my volunteer work at the animal shelter. At least I am fostering a dog so I feel good about that! She and Kayna are such good friends. I already don't want to take her back there!
The little turtle that could (the red eared slider with the ear abcesses and anemia) has turned the corner, her abcesses were lanced and she had an appt Wednesday. The vet said I was doing an awesome job and she gained a gram! 26 grams now... so little and cute and feeling so much better with those puss filled mumps gone from her face. She is so much more active now! And she has some pink in her, which is a big improvement from before. Her mouth was completely white. So I feel better that she is going to make it. I never doubted her. I am still upset about those hatchlings, but my vets office sent me a card and everyone signed it. It was the nicest thing. Very touching that they cared enough to do that. I need to send them a big thank you!!!
Well, I think those are my updates, thankful to Nadine for all of the work and running around she has been doing to help with the event, and the excuse to have yummy lattes!!!! And to Terri for the work on the flyers and color flyers she made, it made such a difference! And Tonia for giving me a reason to get up in the morning and drag my sleepy butt to the gym!!! I am so thankful to be surrounded by such great friends. I can't say enough!
