so yosemite lived up to the hype. dave and mike and the celica proved to be a good time, even when dave was driving on the wrong side of the road and when mike was getting us lost. some of the highlights of our ingenuity include rigging up a decent "tent" with a stolen plantation tarp and the bungee cords that held the hood down, and utilizing the guitar as a brace for the back seat. we're clever. yosemite was breath-takingly beautiful. we did a little backpacking adventure to Glen Aulin and around that general area. The High Seirra camps didn't open this year so there weren't too many people out there. it was a nice 7 mile hike that mostly followed the river through a bunch of falls, and proved that dave is way more hardcore than mike and i. the first night we sat on top of this massive rock overlooking the river to watch the sun set and the moon rise. it was almost a full moon and the shadows were amazing.

from there we headed back west to santa cruz to work alex's sister's hoe-down style wedding. IT WAS SO MUCH FUN! we arrived late at night and instantly started helping with food prep. the next day we did random jobs from flower arranging to building the bars with hay bales, to painting signs to cooking. i spent a lot of time in the kitchen, and basicly rebbie would say "we need some sort of salad dressing for 300 people, make it happen!" and it happened. the three of us got paid in the end and enjoyed a kick-ass party with a crew of new friends, the whole thing was so great. it was also really great to have that time with alex to effectivly debreif our summer and our awkward rolls. i moved into his tent and we spent some late nights talking. it felt really good.

back to the east coast.
right now i'm awkwardly typing on sam's computer while he's at orientation-trip-leader-training... i'm currently splitting my time between my cousin's and 25. it feels good to be back out here with the rain and the oppressive humididty. i missed warm summer nights.
i can't wait for people to start arriving.
and i'm really stressed about facing my DivIII.
