In an alternate seventh year where Harry is back at school and hates Draco more than ever for his role in Dumbledore's death, Draco becomes consumed by the idea that perhaps he and Harry could've been friends instead of enemies. It's a clever variation on the theme of time-turner fics where the protagonist tries to change something inexorable, with the benefit that the current timeline is unaffected and indeed carries on throughout the course of the story as Draco explores various Ifs, learning something from each one. The prose was full of rich details that added to the world.
