"The great battle has been fought and won. The Wizarding world was supposed to heal. But an ancient truth pits Hermione against Muggles and Wizards alike. Her only choice now is who to betray. DH compliant. DM/HG, RW/HG. Not a traditional romance"

"But Selkie," you say, "as a Draco/Ginny shipper, you're allergic to Draco/Hermione, aren't you?"  Yes yes, of course I am, but hear me out.  I would call this a darkish Hermione-centric story that focuses on her morality, not the goody-Gryffindor side of her but the side that will break any rule for the greater good.  Harry is very ill and Hermione goes to unheard-of lengths to help him.  This requires a deal with the devil, aka Malfoy.  The story is compact and complex, with larger-scale morality also being explored, namely the relations between Muggles and wizards and what steps wizards should be taking to protect their culture.  It's a really engaging read.
