So... my plans on entering the NROTC program at Jacksonville University may or may not have halted.
I was reading up on my requirements and all that lovely stuff (and by stuff, I mean shit) when I came across academic requirements. I optimistically clicked the link and began to take in what my future would be like. I'm required to take Naval Science classes, attend drill sessions and training sessions over the summer. Yeah, yeah. I'm also required to have two semester of Calculus by the end of my Sophomore year, yeah okay- WAIT WHAT?!
Might I add that my Sophomore year ends April 16th, 2010? Oh yes.
So... that's pretty much impossible. I'm also required to Calculus based Physics (two semesters) by the end of my Junior year.
Oh, haha, I read this line: "Students who plan to pursue the Scholarship Program should take mathematics and science classes in high school."
So, what about the students coming in with an AS? What do we do?
I knew I should've taken ROTC in high school, but I let my mom talk me out of it continually. Dammit. I think I need to talk to Col. for some advice. Oh yeah, and talking to my recruiter could have its benefits- if they pick up the phone.
And if that doesn't work out, guess who's going Army? This chick.
Guess who doesn't want to go Army? This chick.
Guess who is going to fight a massive bloody war to go Navy? This chick.
EDIT: The Navy [such smart folk] has an option for students like me. Unfortunately, I won't have my full tuition paid... which sucks, but I will survive. Okay... now I have to figure out how I'm going to afford going to UNF, an apartment, car insurance, gas and taking Naval Science courses at Jacksonville University. Well... at least the Navy still pays for my uniforms and gives me a stipend. Jeez.
