This is part of why I hate snow.

So, you know that Snowpocalypse that keeps popping up on the news?

I has it.

We got three feet - yes, thee feet - of snow between noon yesterday and nine this morning. That's a stunning amount of snow, ladies and gentlemen. I also happen to hate snow with a somewhat burning passion, so it's not my favorite day of the year ( Read more... )

Oh, that pic with the lights looks awesome!

(and that's all I'm saying because I kinda love snow... *runs and hides behind John*)

Haha, I'll admit that it looks pretty cool :)

But I lost the meter-stick when I was trying to measure a drift this morning and had to dig it out. There's too much snow. :(

Oh, that's not cool...

May I ask how much snow you got? Does it still snow?

We got three feet (just shy of a meter). It finally stopped yesterday morning, and we're finally just about dug all the way down to the driveway. But we're supposed to get more over the weekend...

You know to me if you cock your head just right it looks like part of the gate symbol for Earth. :)

Also I seriously feel for you. 2 years ago we got snowed in for Christmas. It started snowing like the 18th and w/in about 18 hours we got 4 feet of snow. It was *12 days* stuck in the house with four places to go- garbage can, wood pile, goat pen and the mailbox (where we didn't actually get mail for 8 days). Though I'm sure you'll get out before we did.

(Oh and there was the whole thing where I couldn't take any time I did have to go outside seriously because I had to put on my 'rubber suit' (fishing overalls, Duck boots and a jacket) just to go out and kept hearing a certain snarky line in my head about it. ;))

Twelve days? Sweet mother of mercy, I will burn this place down before I'm stuck here for that long.

I'll probably be able to get out of here by tomorrow afternoon. That's when the plow guy is supposed to come, anyway. Hopefully it's sooner, but there's no way to tell.

We literally had a tree made out of paper. It was h$ll on earth really. (Seriously nothing quite like spending 12 days with your family in 2500 square feet)

The plow came through and cleared the road (one lane) on days 4, 7, 9 and 11 BUT we are set back from the road (350 feet or so) so we'd have had to dig 4+ feet plus drifts out between us and the road to get out.

Ack.

The pathway from the house to the driveway is probably around 150 feet or so, all told, and we've gotten about half of it cleared by now. And that's only half the battle; digging the cars out is going to be its own brand of special, I'm sure, and getting to the end of the driveway yet another. I feel like I should just call out now, but I'm still hoping to get a call from my boss telling me not to go in tomorrow, haha.

One of these days, you're going to move East where it snows and you will understand my misery.

Seriously, why did I move out of my apartment? At least there, they cleared it away for me...

My cousin and I decided last night to move to Mexico. I can teach English and she can sell jewellery in the market. (This was somewhere in between her pipes freezing, so she can't run any taps, and when I measured and found that we were about halfway though the total snowfall.)

Ugh, I feel your pain! We spent three hours digging out (and there's still some to go, argh). If I never see another snowflake in my life it'd be too soon. But, I suppose that's part of living in New England, lol.

But on the bright side, since I have the week off, and don't really need to leave the house I can work on my sg_flyboys fic, yay!

I've decided to pack up and move to Mexico. It never snows in Mexico, right?

And I'm working on my sg_flyboys fic too :) It's.. massive. I might have gotten a little overenthusiastic about it... but so far I really like it :)
