The portions of the Stark Tower set aside for the Avengers team's use were finally growing more familiar for Dr. Banner. In the seemingly endless halls and different floors, he was ashamed to admit that he had nearly been lost on more than one occasion and had to ask JARVIS for directions. Since then, he had spent quite a bit of time exploring, and it was paying off.
One particular find, which was one of his favorites, was a small lounge area. It was nice, but to the casual observer, it seemed like nothing special. The room boasted a screen for television and other transmissions, a sound system, some bookshelves and tables, but that was really modest compared to the extravagance put into some of the other rooms Bruce had found.
Bruce loved this room for two reasons. The first was the seating. His personal space had places to sit, lab stools and desk chairs, but this room had ample space for some armchairs and some particularly spacious and comfortable couches. In addition, this room seemed to be largely forgotten, while the larger common areas were frequent spots for watching sports or socializing. Tucked into a corner of the tower which was seemingly ignored by the others, this particular lounge made for the ideal spot for Bruce to relax at the end of a long day.
That evening, Bruce was sitting in the larger plush couch, enjoying the silence. He never got silence like this in Calcutta, he remembered as he read. There were always problems with crowding and noise in the bustling neighborhoods full of houses with paper-thin walls. A quiet place to read like this was something out of his fondest daydreams, and as he sat there with an open issue of Scientific American in front of him, he savored every second of it.
