Do you know what crazy people do? They get a puppy when they have a three year old and a baby on the way.
They do. It's crazy.
I was prepared to be dog-free after we lost our Kaelie girl last New Year's. I had decided it would be a good thing for awhile. No picking up poop, no shedding, no opening the door ten million times a day. Bliss! I thought.
Until there was no dog. No cold noses, no soft pets, no over-excited "OMG! YOU'RE HOME!" It was peaceful...but something was missing.
Turns out, the internet said, what was missing was a puppy named Baxter. Well, the internet said his name was Snoopy, but it's not.
And seriously? A puppy is not the same thing as a 12 year old dog! I knew this, but oh my goodness. The energy and needing to be trained, and the chewing (I forgot about the chewing!) and did I mention the needing to be trained?
But I am so thankful we did. Cats are good. Kids are awesome. But life is just better with a dog around. And this dog? He's one of the really good ones.
