Rating: R/NC-17 eventually
Summary: Pierre's hiding something from his friends, and even more from the world around him. He hides behind Seb too much, and needs Jeff around him 24/7. He needs to learn to live on his own again, and a Senior Trip to LA brings him to that realization. Will a certain mysterious hottie named David be able to save him from the shell his father has forced him into? (I believe it'll end up better than it sounds... I suck as summaries!)
Disclaimer: Never happened...though, I wouldn't mind...just, not as sad, please!!
Dedication: To my dear friend Matt for talking me through somethings, even if it did distract me from writing this.
Authors Note: It's short but emotional and beautiful, I think. One of my favorite chapters. Comment!
Pierre felt something tickling his face. Breath, he noticed after a few minutes. His eyes fluttered open slowly and saw a figure hovering over him. His first reaction was to cower against the wall and then attempt to run. However, though the person seemed like a stranger at first, he soon came in contact with a pair of very familiar, very beautiful eyes. And while he couldn't figure out why David would want to wake him up by blowing on his face, he was much more concerned with David's appearance at the moment.
David's long, sleek black hair was now gone. Instead, on top of David's beautiful head rested a blonde, short, yet perfect faux hawk. Pierre gasped a little, but soon a bright grin spread across his face. Before he had only really seen David's face pieces at a time, his black hair hanging in front of most of it half the time. Now, however, he could perfectly see all of David's beautiful features, including his large smile, twinkling eyes, blushing cheeks, raised, perfectly defined eyebrows, and kissable dimples.
Pierre's smile broadened and he leaned up, capturing David's lips softly. Twenty. Apparently, he had overestimated his ability to keep is lips away from David's, no matter how insecure he felt.
"Glad you like it." David laughed, never moving from his position above Pierre. "Brooke decided that she liked my blonde hair better, considering that's the color it was last time she saw me in person, and she liked that, because we matched, as she put it. And well, as for the new style... I grew my hair out when I was in my emo stage. I guess I finally grew up and realized that my life is practically perfect, and I have a beautiful, wonderful boyfriend, and if anyone has a right to be emo, it's him, however he toughs it out, and so should I. Hence the hawk." David laughed and Pierre sat up, wrapping his arms around him.
"I love it." He whispered. "Brooke is quiet a smart young lady. She should be your fashion consultant. Maybe she can help you find some pants that fit properly." Pierre teased looking that David's man-kapris. Although they did look very wonderful on him, Pierre couldn't help but pick on it. He merely rubbed their noses together when David pouted, calling him mean. "I should get dressed. What time is it?"
"Only nine. I got up really early, I guess. I didn't sleep much. You looked too beautiful sleeping for me to keep my eyes off of you." David admitted, causing Pierre to blush and look at him strangely. "Don't worry, I'm not a creep. I just happen to be in love with you. And yes, you should get dressed, I'm starving and my Aunt is cooking right now, you'd better hurry or you'll miss it! She makes the best French Toast in the whole world, I swear!"
And David was correct, according to Pierre's taste buds, and he was sure to tell her a thousand times over. "Thank you, Pierre, you're too kind." She had said. "David, eat some more you're so skinny. That has to be unhealthy!" David looked at his plate as she piled more onto it, groaning, he had already eaten four pieces.
"Take a look at yourself, Aunt Madeline, it just runs in the family! We're just naturally grossly skinny, and you know that I eat more than anyone here." David whined and dug in anyway with a shrug. Pierre eyed him, there was nothing gross about David, his weight was just perfect for his build, and he almost kind of liked it that David looked a bit girly sometimes.
"I don't think you're too skinny." Pierre assured. "You look perfect to me." He blushed at his own statement, especially because he was saying it in front of David's family. "Just perfect." He repeated in a whisper. However, Brooke had still heard it, and Pierre heard her giggling from the other side of David. She tried to stifle them when he looked at her, but failed miserably.
After eating David lead Pierre outside, into the backyard to a large swim hanging from an ancient but beautiful oak tree. Big enough for two. They sat on it looking out over the farm in the background. Yes, a farm. "David, I thought the only rich farmers died off years ago." Pierre laughed. "You know, like when slavery died? They were only rich because of land, right? And usually now having a lot of land means nothing." He did admit to himself though that he was glad they did have a farm, because running through the corn fields seemed awfully tempting at the moment.
David laughed as well. "Well, this property has been in my Uncle's family a long time. And, it's usually been the women bringing the large salaries into the home. Take my Aunt, for example. She's a Neuro Surgeon, and while my uncle makes a large amount of money as well, he doesn't work very often, and instead spends a lot of time on the farm with his hired help. Kind of a hobby. It's been that way with his family for generations. I think it's good for them, though. They live a really peaceful life. I love coming here."
"And you really seem to love Brooke." Pierre added with a smile, wrapping his free arm that wasn't holding onto the rope of the swing around David as they swayed back and forth. It was true, David and Brooke seemed to have a strong connection, and his eyes lit up whenever he was around her. He acted perfect with her, like he'd make a great father. Or, at least a great big brother. Too bad he didn't have any siblings.
"Of course I love her!" David laughed. "She's my only cousin on Dad's side, and she's more than that." He sighed. "I never told you this, but she's my God daughter." Pierre was shocked by this but let David's continue. "My Aunt doesn't have many friends, she's very devoted to her work, and a bit shy, you see. And well, we were really close when I was growing up, seeing as how she's not too much older than us. She's only twenty eight. How she managed having a child while going to college is beyond me. She went to college early, she was a few grades ahead for her age. She's a genius, I swear. Anyway, well, I took well to being a Godfather while still being in high school. I called her a lot and came to visit when I could. And, surprisingly, unlike most Godfathers of the world, I actually taught her. About respect, God, everything really that I could. But there was something that I wanted to teach her that her parents weren't really to happy about, but better from me than somebody close minded. So a few months ago I told her I was gay. I explained it to her and she was kind of confused for a while but then she just looked up at me with those cute little eyes of hers and smiled. And then," He let a tear roll from his eyes and Pierre kissed it off of his cheek. David laughed and shook his head. "Sorry, it just amazes me how sweet she is. She looked up at me and told me that if I ever fell in love, that I'd better bring the guy to meet her, so she could approve, and then we could live happily ever after. And then she told me when she became president, she'd buy me and my boyfriend a castle to live in, like princes." He laughed and looked over at Pierre. "So that's why we're here."
Pierre was a bit hurt at first, to think that a little girl could have broken them up, if she hadn't approved. However, she had approved, which warmed his heart. And if David had brought him there to meet Brooke, that meant he was defiantly serious about being with Pierre, which made him even more happy. So happy, in fact, that Pierre took the next step in their relationship by leaning in, his eyes closed, and capturing David's lips in their first open mouthed kiss.
After the shock wore off, David kissed him back, and Pierre bravely tugged on David's lip with his teeth, making David open his mouth further, and they both held their breathe nervously as Pierre's tongue made it's way into David's mouth, and history was made. Pierre Bouvier, for the first time in his life, willingly made out with someone. And it changed him in more ways than one. While he felt more confident, more loved. He was more scared. How was that possible? When you've been through the things Pierre has been through, you don't really need a reason to be scared. The strangest things scare you, and sometimes even the person you just want to hold for the rest of forever can make you shiver with fear.
They pulled apart a few minutes later, Pierre resting his head on David's forehead, catching his breath. "I love you." David whispered, rubbing Pierre's back. "And so does she." He said. "She likes you, Pierre, but... she asked me why your eyes are always so sad." He looked into Pierre's eyes, that were, even now after such an intense and yet so innocent and loving kiss, looked dreadfully and tragically beautiful, and sighed. "And I didn't have an answer for her. Pierre, I don't think I'll ever be able to fully understand why you can smile, but it doesn't reach your eyes, or why you're shaking right now, but it doesn't matter. I'm going to love you forever no matter what. You can trust me on that, Pierre. No matter how frustrating it might be sometimes, being with you is the best thing that's every happened to me."
Pierre smiled sadly and wrapped his arms around David for a few minutes before they got off the swing and headed back into the house. David made a grab for Pierre's hand, and when he pulled away, David looked hurt. It hurt Pierre to see David upset, but he didn't want to be touched at the moment. Of course David couldn't understand that, seeing as how they just made out, and then held each other just minutes ago, but he wasn't going to force Pierre to have contact with him.
Later that afternoon, after not talking very much, Pierre and David explored the barns around the house, petting some of the horses. David assured Pierre that they wouldn't hurt him, and even convinced him to sit on one of the ponies, but as soon as it started to move, he jumped off into David's arms, nearly making them both tumble to the ground. He muttered an apology and let go of David, and they went back into an uncomfortable silence.
That evening as the sun was just starting to go down, and Pierre and David were walking in from the stables, Pierre noticed Brooke jumping rope to the music coming from her battery operated boom box on the ground. He recognized the song instantly, and embarrassingly, and used it to his advantage to make up with David. He stop David in his tracks by stepping out in front of him and taking his hand.
"You tell me you're in love with me, like you can't take your pretty eyes away from me. It's not that I don't wanna stay but every time you come too close I move away. I wanna believe in everything that you say 'cause it sounds so good, but if you really want me, move slow there's things about me you just have to know." He took in David's expression. It was a cross between shock and amusement, the second being a little discouraging, but he continued anyway, singing along deeply with the music, his voice more beautiful than it had ever been with the band. Less naggy and more harmonic.
"Sometimes I run, sometimes I hide sometimes, I'm scared of you; but all I really want is to hold you tight treat you right, be with you day and night. Baby all I need is time." He took a breathe and squeezed David's hand, letting him know he really meant what he was singing. "I don't wanna be so shy. Every time that I'm alone I wonder why. Hope that you will wait for me, you'll see that you're the only one for me. I wanna believe in everything that you say 'cause it sounds so good but if you really want me, move slow there's things about me you just have to know." While repeating the chorus was corny and annoying, he did it anyway, wanting the message to sink into David. "I'll just hang around and you'll see there's nowhere I'd rather be if you love me, trust in me the way that I trust in you."
He stared into David's eyes as the dramatic music played out, and before he could continue with the annoying chorus that repeated a few times, he gave into the urge to kiss eyes beautiful lips, continuing his tongue's earlier explorations, while staring into David's teary eyes, in what would have been a very passionate moment if Brooke wouldn't have been giggling in the background.
They broke apart, laughing too, and turned to the little girl. "I knew he was a good one." Brooke said, continuing to jump rope. "And he has a pretty voice." They laughed and looked back at each other, still holding hands. David decided that Pierre had more mood swings than a pregnant woman, but that was okay with him.
That was perfectly okay with him.
