Serendipity
Today was good! A really good day! It started with coffee, a bath, drove Danny to work and went to target. Went to Michaels next to check out the clearance yarn when an older woman commented on my crochet shrug. She asked if I made it and, I shyly confessed. Then I told her the yarn I used was on clearance so we both ended up chatting by the clearance pile of yarn. She owned an alpaca farm and made fibers/yarn! My dream. Her husband has just passed away so she has to sell the business. She told me about a fibers expo in NY and another one in Ct. It felt like I knew her, or that I was meant to know her in that moment. We exchanged info and I felt I gained a new friend. I finished 3 large projects while Tavi was at school. A local store called Tall Tumbleweeds is selling my crochet garments and jewelry! She requested 3 kimono style cardigans. I got to drop them off to her after picking Tavi up from school and she was soo cool and excited. While I was there, some girls came in and immediately tried on a hat i made. Amelia (store owner) yells, “the girl who made it is here, that’s her!” Pointing to me! Oh, hi, thanks! I quickly respond. Tavi was with me, and Im not sure she fully understands what I’m doing but i hope she thinks it’s kind of cool one day. I mean. She thought it was cool when we walked in and she saw my stuff hanging on the clothing racks :) We are going to yarn bomb the telephone poll. After that we went to Newport creamery in barrington and got hot dogs and Tavi got an awful awful. Our waitress had the same name as me and even spelled it the same! Everyone’s energy around me today was just so positive and I’m fully appreciative. I feel seen and I feel good.
