“Mom, why can’t men have babies?”
“Good question”, i reply.
She vows she will never get married or have a baby. I explained to her that she could still get married and in fact not have a baby. It kind of blew her mind for a minute. We also talked about the option of adopting, you know, normal mother to 5yr old daughter conversations. She’s a very determined child. She just learned the new frozen 2 song on piano. She had hundreds of pages covered in drawings, some unfinished because “it didn’t come out right”. We also have been working on how to cope with losing, failing, not quite getting it. It’s SO hard for her to accept. She wants to win, be the best at everything. School is helping her to see that now. She was awarded “witness of the week” for picking up garbage with her friend giavanna during recess last week! She’s a good kid and I love her.
We have a bedtime routine still, it goes like this:
Book, free talk, mr hand (I make my hand talk and tickle) night night don’t let the bed bugs bite, pray, huggy and kissy.
