[She climbs the stairs to Eridan's room, thinking idly about picking up the living room but dismissing the idea pretty quickly. She has something more important to worry about.
[Kanaya studies the door; she definitely could chainsaw it, but she'd probably damage the frame in the process, and she doesn't much feel like trying to fix it.]
All right, if you're sure that's what you want.
[She starts back down the stairs, thinking about the rose trellis on the outside of the cottage that leads up to Eridan's window.]
[Eridan sighs and just pulls his cape tighter. He's definitely sadden she left, but he has himself to blame for it and he knows this. But he just, didn't want her to see him like this--not that she hadn't seen him distraught and heartbroken before, or in similar pathetic states... But this just hurt so bad.]
[He just wanted to lay here, curled up in his cape, wallowing in his own misery and self pity.]
Kanaya goes outside and examines the rose trellis closely, reaching out and tugging on it with both hands. It seems pretty solid, and it's nailed into the side of the cottage, so she might as well try it, right? It's not like a fall from that height could really hurt her...
Shoving away the sudden, unwelcome image of Tavros' four-wheel device, she starts climbing, heading for Eridan's window.]
[Eridan raises his head, peeping out of his cape at the sudden noises outside. He wasn't sure what it was, probably Kanaya just doing some sort of yard work or whatever it was that she liked to do outside. Though... It never sounded quite like that, or as noticeable.]
[Whatever.]
[He didn't care, so he soon just puts his head back down and rolls so his back is to the window now, because whatever that noise was, he didn't care anymore.]
[After a few minutes of climbing and struggling, Kanaya reaches the window, which Eridan has left cracked open a few inches. Clinging to the trellis with all her might, she reaches up and shoves it open more, silently grateful that it doesn't squeak when she does.
Then it's a pretty simple matter to climb higher and clamber in through it. It's not the graceful, poetic entrance she'd like to make (she almost face-plants on the floor), but she's in.
She stands up, brushing off her skirt.]
It would have been much easier if you had just opened the door.
[Eridan was too distracted to notice even if the window had squeaked. Too busy with himself, per usual. Too busy feeling sorry for himself, regretting this and wishing he had done more of that. Thinking there might have been something he could have done to keep Karkat from disappearing. Though, knowing that nothing would have changed it--but somehow still feeling guilty.]
[Maybe if he had been a better kismesis...]
[But then he hears Kanaya. And not through the door, but behind him. Near the window he had just looked at mere moments ago.]
[He doesn't even move, just lets out an aggravated sigh.]
Kan, I said fuckin' leawe me alone. What's so fuckin' hard about that, that you can't fuckin' follow it?
[He definitely sounds more defeated than demanding. Not having the energy to really add his normal flare. Just, too exhausted.]
I'm not leaving you alone. Not when you're like this.
[Not when you're like this? Not when she's like this. She doesn't want to be alone right now, and she's pretty sure you don't either or you'd be throwing a much bigger fit right now.
Kanaya walks over to his bed and sits on the edge of it, near him but not touching.]
You don't have to talk about it, but would you mind listening?
[He shifts slightly when she takes a seat. Not necessarily trying to scoot away from her, but trying to get comfortable again since she disrupted his brooding by changing the slight angle of the matress he was curled up on. HOW DARE YOU KAN.]
[However when she asks him if he'd mind listening, he merely glances at her, before looking away again.]
If I listen will it bring Kar back?
[Of course it wouldn't, but he was hurting and he often found the only way to distract himself was through being an ass.]
Knock knock knock on the closed door.]
Eridan? Are you okay in there?

Go away. Leawe me alone. [He doesn't actually mean it. He doesn't want to be alone. He's so tired of being alone.]

You don't really want that, do you?

[Eridan now you're being over dramati--oh wait.]
Reply
[She tries the doorknob, then frowns.]
Eridan, unlock the door. Let me in.

[Being so stubborn about this. Just gonna, curl tighter into his cape now.]

[She'd rather not chainsaw it, but she will. Don't think she won't.]

[Pfft like Kanaya could open the door. It was locked. Obviously she couldn't open it. Obviously.]
