Kamui managed to land a killing blow on a noctaere. The creature was more difficult to bring down than he had presumed. But most of his difficulty was not the fault of the creature's resilience, but Kamui getting used to the new powers he was granted. Some of his vampiric abilities were swapped out for different ones, abilities he had never seen before and wasn't sure how to utilize. But thankfully, he had time to practice while exploring the other rooms of the castles in hopes of finding an exit.
No exit had turn up, but Kamui was picking up something else. He heard a voice and also picked up the faint scent of blood. The vampire first thought was to ignore it. There were probably others who were trapped here, fighting their own battles. They were of no concern to him. However, he felt a nagging feeling about this, something he couldn't ignore. So begrudgingly, Kamui searched for the source of the voice he heard and also to where the smell of blood was the strongest.
Suddenly the smell of blood hit him so abruptly as if he had crashed into a wall. It was coming from a room at the end of the hall he was currently on. As the pureblood drew closer, his eyes caught sight of the blood pooling at the bottom of the door.Kamui quickly acted, using the powers he had recently gained to form a bow made up of energy and an arrow to shoot. The vampire released the arrow, making the head of the weapon pierce the center of the door, causing it to crack and crumble into tiny pieces.
Kamui moved into the doorway to see that the source of blood came from a body lying on the floor. The vampire quickly recognized the body to be that of Takuma's, the vampire he had met a few days ago. Kamui moved to the other's side, not touching him. He didn't want to cause any more pain for the other."Takuma."
I KNOW! THOSE FRICKIN' DOORS! THEY KEEP GETTING HIM!not_my_grandpaNovember 1 2010, 04:55:27 UTC
Suddenly, there was a light. Or rather, the dimness of the hallway light was enough to be bright to Takuma's eyes that had been clouded with darkness all that time.
"Kamui...", he said in a pained voice. The blond managed a smile to the other even within all of the pain he was feeling. The gash in his chest was starting to close, but slower this time since the original wound consisted of a part of his heart being cut out. For wounds such as those, they were a lot harder to heal. Especially since he was so drained from fighting for this long.
There was a trail of blood that ran down his cheeks and from his mouth. It was a terrible and morbid sight, but this was a terrible and morbid place. Plus, being a vampire and losing so much blood made him thirsty. His situation wasn't a good one, but he kept hold of himself. He needed to.
"Coming to save me again?", he said, trying to muster up the strength to continue to be his normal, light-hearted self.

"The blood..."Kamui replied."It lead me here. I didn't know it belonged to you."
Kamui only watched Takuma. Though, the other tried so hard to hide his pain, Kamui could easily see through it. It was something he could always dispel when it came to his own brother. There was so much blood that the pureblood already knew what needed to be done. The other needed blood or else, he'll be defenseless.
The vampire pulled back the dirtied sleeves of his costume, revealing his wrist. He then offered it to Takuma."Don't make this a habit."

His green eyes blinked a couple of times as the pale wrist was offered to him. Was this okay? Was this really okay? He needed it, he knew that for a fact. If he didn't drink, then he would be completely useless and he could even die. But what about....?
Before he could even think anymore, his eyes beamed a bright red, then took the wrist into his hands, his fangs already elongated and started to lick the area he was going to sink them into.
The licks were small, like a kitten's, as he softened the spot and soon enough, he took that bite.
His eyes closed as the pureblood's life fluid bubbled up inside of his mouth. He didn't plan on making this a habit, but it was so delicious, probably because of him being a pureblood. He was truly grateful to him.
Kamui would have cut his wrist for Takuma, but he couldn't grow his nails because of this stupid costume. However, he found that the other didn't need it,having his own method. Kamui winced slightly at having his wrist bitten into. Not because it hurt, but because he was surprised. The only other person he had given his blood to was Fay and it wasn't anything like this. Kamui figured the etiquette in Takuma's world was much different than his own.
The vampire turned away from Takuma, letting the vampire feed on his wrist. He took a look around the room, seeing if there were any dangers or possibly a lead to what had injured the other in the first place. To his eye, there was nothing out of the ordinary. It seemed like a simple room, compared to the other rooms he's been in.However, Kamui didn't write off the potential danger of the room just yet. There had to be some sort of reason Takuma was injured.
The pureblood turned back to Takuma and said."Enough."
Thankfully, he was a clean drinker. It was embarrassing to spill or let blood dribble down the side of his face. It made him look uncivil, especially to someone he'd just met. With someone closer to him, it didn't quite matter. It was like the equivalence to table manners.
It was then he was abruptly cut off that he pulled away. He was feeling better, certainly. Not like he was dying and his wound was closing up quicker now that he had more strength. All he needed now was to find some place to wash his face.
"Thank you....", he said softly. He tried to hide the blush on his face from having to feed from someone he barely knew like that.
"We should leave this room before it locks us both in....", he said, starting to stand up.
Kamui withdrew his wrist from Takuma, the wounds the other made were already starting to close up. Not that Kamui was concerned about that. The pureblood already noticed a difference in Takuma. He seemed more energized than earlier.
"It was nothing." Kamui said in response to Takuma's "thank you". He then nodded as the other suggested they leave before the room decided to keep them inside. Kamui waited for Takuma to stand up and head for the door, so he could linger behind....to see if anything was in here.Still nothing."So? You also went on the train?
Takuma finally managed to get onto his feet and walked over to the door. He looked like he had been murdered then resurrected with the amount of blood that covered him, but he was feeling all right.
He looked back at Kamui and nodded. "I did...I was following someone's scent. Two people, actually. They're very close to me and I wanted to follow them to make sure they were okay. I still haven't managed to find them even though I've been here this whole time...", he said.
"Yourself? Were you hoping this was a way out?", he asked simply. It was a plausible thought. Usually trains meant going on a long journey somewhere. To a place that one may or may not come back from. He wondered if D and Cooro thought the same thing as they boarded the train.
Kamui listened to Takuma as he followed him toward the door.He was surprised to hear that Takuma was looking for people, but they haven't turned up yet. But Kamui didn't remember seeing anyone from the train when he explored the castle. Meaning the castle was that big or that they were dealing with something more powerful
At Takuma's last question, Kamui frowned."It was worth looking into."
He nodded, letting out a soft chuckle that sounded more like a light puff of air coming from his lips. He hadn't meant to laugh at him, but the fact that he was actually right amused him. Though he understood. Someone so new would have easily thought that a train could lead to their awakening.
But unfortunately for him, it wasn't to be so.
"I hope you haven't had as much of a tiring time as I have", he said, walking next to the other vampire. Though, he doubted that he didn't. This place seemed like it could throw anyone for a loop. And these costumes didn't help. They hindered was more like it. Unless, of course, someone powerless gained something good. But then, there was the ability to control said power.
"I'll have to make this up to you...", he said idly, looking forward, and a light smile on his face. He said it in such a way that 'you don't have to' wasn't an answer.
Kamui gave Takuma a slight glare at the chuckle. He already knew he was foolish for going on the train, but nothing can go unchecked. Now he knew to be more suspicious about the events that happen here. This will be the last time, he went on something that he wasn't certain of.
"Hmph." The vampire huffed at Takuma's statement, his eyes bleeding into an amber."Whoever thought this was funny, placing us in these costumes and putting us in this place, I'm going to kill them."
Kamui looked to Takuma when he said he would make it up to him,but the other didn't leave any room for argument, which Kamui was ready to give. But even he could understand why this was so important to him. So Kamui stayed silent about that. He merely walked with Takuma out of the room and into the hall. Then he finally said,"Those people you are looking for, do you still sense them?"
Takuma couldn't help but be reminded of Zero. They had a very similar manner of speaking. He found that oddly comforting and endearing.
He merely gave a light laugh at the threat placed on whoever was responsible. If there was anyone responsible or if this was just another strange thing dished out to them for one reason or another by the land of dreams itself.
The blond closed his eyes and sniffed at the air silently, but was assaulted with the smell of his own blood instead. He tried sensing D's power if he was using them, but nothing came up. His shoulders sagged and he shook his head.
"I'm afraid I lost them...", he said, his head handing down. "They should be here though...." He was starting to lose hope that they even were.
Maybe it was for the best if they weren't. He wouldn't wish this on poor Cooro, nor would he wish this on D. Even if they were being awkward around each other.
"Would you mind staying with me until we find them? And even afterward, you're welcome to stick with us. In a place like this, it's best to be in a group. Especially when there are rooms like the one I was trapped in"
"....I'll stay with you",Kamui started. He didn't have a reason not to stick with Takuma. They both had similar goals, getting out of here alive. However, Kamui wanted to make one thing clear."But after that, there is no reason for me to stay. I can take care of myself."
"Let's get away from here." The pureblood suggested as he picked up his pace. With the smell of blood in the air, it's no telling what was being attracted. Probably those annoying creatures lurking about.
Takuma nodded once, slowly since he was still recuperating. "Right", he said. Kamui seemed so strong. And man, he really did sound like Zero.
He followed Kamui's pace, walking along the twisted hallways of the nightmarish castle.
His green eyes glanced over at him. "I'm curious....how do vampires in your world work?", he asked. It seemed that everyone who had vampires in their world knew about them differently, so it was always interesting to know each world's myths and facts.
Kamui was kind of curious about what kind of vampire Takuma was as well. They seemed similar, but this could be inaccurate. He was wondering if there would be any side effects to giving Takuma his blood, but he saw none so far. The pureblood answered,"Vampires in my world are very much alive. We are not the undead,we're born like humans are. And we are not immortal, we just age slower than most. Pureblood lifespans have much longer than normal vampires though."
"We're not immortal, so that means we can be killed. Except things like sunlight, garlic, silver or any religious symbols can not harm us. However, fatal blows can kill us and inflict damage." Kamui added, wondering if he had left out anything. Then he remembered. This was something he was meaning to ask Takuma about. Mainly because he doubted that this world had it."In my world, we can no longer fed on humans, because of the hunters. So we created prey in order to sustain our existence."
Takuma's eyes seemed to brighten more and more as Kamui explained his vampire lineage. They were very similar, almost to a T. It actually made him happy! Finally, someone he could fully relate to in terms of biology. He couldn't help but clap his hands together once and chime out a chipper "That's wonderful!"
Though, the last part wasn't so great. "The vampires in my world work the same way! We're born and we're also not immortal. Well...a difference is that purebloods are immortal. But things like garlic, silver, and religious symbols cannot harm us, either! Though...if we eat too much garlic, we can get a bit sick and the sun makes us weak and we can pass out if we're not careful, but it can't kill us.
Fatal blows can kill us if our head is cut off or our heart is cut out. So we're a bit difficult to kill. And purebloods can only be killed by hunters.
A rule has been placed that we can only feed on a human if we get their consent and they know exactly what we are. Other than that, there have been little tablets made to stave our hunger since they don't want to run the risk of a human lying in case they're being threatened.
The rule is also a lot like a Hierarchy. Purebloods would be the princesses and princes, the Nobles which is what I am are, well, the nobility, the Class C vampires are the commoner vampires, then the D class are humans turned vampire" He was rather excited now. "What sort of prey did you create?"
