A dead world, a dark path. Not even crossroads to choose from all the bloodred carpets before me. )
She barely knows the Frenchman, but when his twin yells at him that he's nothing more than a shell, she grits her teeth, bringing up her gun once more. She aims at the head, her own gaze cold and angry:
"That's where you're wrong..."
Even with the very few interactions they had, Lara doesn't agree with the shadow-self of the Frenchman. A soulless man wouldn't have warned a complete stranger against potential enemies. An empty shell wouldn't have offered to cook her her favorite meal from home. Even if one could argue that all those gestures might have been born out of the desire to hurt her, they had been done anyhow. If Abel had truly been only a vessel, he wouldn't have cared for anything nor anyone, for their good or bad.
But before she's able to add anything else, the Frenchman stands up and dashes toward her target. Without a clear shot, she can't do anything else than watch the two men fight, hoping it will not turn for the worst for Abel.

Nodding, she uses Abel's massive body as a shield, seeing as the man had taken on the task to block the projectiles. Finding an opening, she aims and shoots, the bullet finding its target in a microsecond, causing the computer in the evil twin's midsection to shatter, sending sparks in every directions.

Abel's quiet words bring her focus back on the man kneeling in front of her, his back curled slightly. The young woman notices the blood on his arm and she reaches for the healing supplies she has with her, silently thanking the strange costume that came fully equipped.
She starts to clean the cuts on his left arm and gives him a slightly puzzled look:
"Why focus on the past when what's truly important is the present and the future you can build for yourself?"

"...And to think that a lot of us would give anything to forget some part of our pasts..."
Once her task is done, she shifts to sit in front of him, her legs by his side as she brings one up to lean her elbow against her knee, to support her head in her hand.
"Some things aren't meant to be found, Abel. If your quest only lead to more questions, perhaps it's better to let go. Not having memories from your past isn't going to change who you are. Nor it should keep you from making new ones. Beside, knowledge doesn't always bring you happiness."
She gives a short look and one small smile.
