this is going to be wondrous. headsomewhere October 20 2010, 05:35:28 UTC
First a very hungry gurgle, then it started getting closer and opening it's mouth and by then she was misunderstanding the whole concept and was convinced that it was indeed intending on eating her. She was close to either using the pepper spray and make a dash for it, were it not the fact her feet was frozen on spot and not to mention she heard a familiar voice. Thankfully Shizuo had answered her without any questions, cause how can she really explain this? Nonetheless she quickly moves on over to him, fingers pressing over the PDA surface quickly and show up the message, "It's an alien! It opened it's mouth and I |"

Though her message was cut off short as she noted the surprised look on his face, glancing between the 'alien' and Shizuo before it dawned on her.

Shizuo... knew the alien?!

....But, how, did that-

...Actually, that could only meet one thing. She clearly hoped this wasn't the case. She reaches up and pinches Shizuo's cheek, tugging on it right that second. When the face didn't remove and reveal a alien face beneath, she only looked all the more confused. Well, if he wasn't an alien, then how did he know this one?

Toothless noticed the light post before he noticed Shizuo, and his teeth popped into place. He hunkered closer to the ground and took the steps he had taken forward backward again, snarling. ...And then he realized it was Shizuo, and couldn't quite decide what to think, because what the hell, blondie, you have a light post in your hand. Humans should really not be able to do that. He dropped back into a cautiously open stance, retracting his teeth again and looking back and forth between the two. Shizuo seemed to know the odd, helmeted human.

...and now aforementioned odd helmeted human was pinching his cheek and somehow managing to look confused without a face. Toothless sat back on his haunches to watch, gurgling curiously at Shizuo. What in the world was going on?

Shizuo was still wondering what Toothless was doing here, and was about to ask if Celty thought he was the alien, when all of the sudden Celty was reaching up to pinch his cheek.

He actually didn't feel any pain. In fact he hardly felt it at all. So instead of wincing or be like a normal person and give a shout, he just turned his head toward her in slight confusion. "...Huh? What, do I have something on my face?" he asked puzzled, first glancing at Celty and then at Toothless in case the dragon saw something, too.

we totally do. :> headsomewhere October 20 2010, 06:01:08 UTC
Alright Toothless in defensive mode was not helping with her fears, but good thing she was more or so focused on figuring out whether Shizuo here is an alien or not. She gives another tug, just to be sure, before she drops her hand and types onto her PDA.

"I thought you might have been an alien too. |"

Clearly Shinra had to be more specific when talking to her about aliens, at least now she's convinced he isn't one. However, that doesn't change the fact a real one like Toothless there sitting all innocently when he tried to eat her a second ago, was really an alien! So back to the matter at hand, "Why is there an alien here?! And that earlier creepy voice.." She shudders at the thought, "We're being invaded! |"

To Shizuo's sidelong glance, Toothless rolled his shoulders in a shrug and shook his head. Are you nuts? He had no idea what this funny helmeted human was doing! ...Well, okay, Celty wasn't actually a human, but she certainly looked like one. So to Toothless, she was. For now.

The dragon vaguely wished he could see what in the world Celty was doing with the funny thing in her hand, too. Her fingertips were dancing over the front of it at breakneck speed, and she kept presenting it to Shizuo every so often and it was really quite confusing. He trilled from where he was, somewhat put-out. Something was going on, a conversation was being had, and he was being left out. He could see that Celty was afraid of him, so he didn't want to approach and scare her more, lest she scream and Javert come out of the woodwork with his shiny weaponry again, but by Thor he was curious. He whined again.

"...You thought I was an alien?" Shizuo said, giving Celty a bit of a look. If it was any other person, he probably would have punched them in the face or threw them or threw something at them. But this was Celty, so his reaction was far from that.

But there was no time to really question why she thought he of all people was an alien. She was already sending him some more messages, so after reading the text, he blinked. Then he looked up at Toothless. Then to Celty.

And laughed.

"Haha, Celty, he ain't an alien!" He then gave her a playful punch in the arm before nodding to Toothless. "Can't you tell? He's a dragon. Not that I believed it at first myself, but he's definitely not an alien." Still chuckling a little, he shook his head. "Nah, there's no invasion. Not that I know of anyway. Don't know what the voice was, though."

If she could look sheepish at his comment, she would but all she can do is give a nod at his first words. Aliens are very sneaky and can even be disguised as your closest friends, there's never a time you can't be too careful. Though, she probably shouldn't tell him that she did the same to his brother. ..She probably wouldn't be surprised if he told him, of course. Gripping the source of her 'voice' in her hands, her helmet tilted towards Toothless just as Shizuo glances over before back to him and watching him closely.

Admittedly, she didn't expect him to laugh at her.

At the punch she was knocked off balance for a moment, though managed to regain it as she stood and rubbed at that arm for a moment. By now her attention was back onto Toothless, listening to Shizuo still as he spoke. A dragon? Well, that was the last thing she was expecting. By the way he was convinced on his explaining it to her, she believed him. Alright so that cleared things here, not the voice part, but at least this wasn't an alien. A finger scratches at the side of her helmet in embarrassment, "A dragon? I see, have you met him before? |"

Celty is a little more relaxed, a lot more than how she first started off, but at least enough that she isn't at all scared of Toothless now. Far as it goes for the voice, she'll probably ask about it on the network later.

Shifting where he sat and continuing to watch the exchange, Toothless gurgled curiously at the turn of events. Shizuo had asked a question about something called "aliens", and then he had for some reason become violent with the helmeted human. That was something he was used to seeing from Astrid, and the dragon briefly wondered if it had something to do with having yellow hair. The helmeted one had even reacted much like Hiccup did when punched-- sort of wobbled on her feet and then rubbed at the spot. He couldn't tell if she had given Shizuo the same sort of affronted what was that for? look Hiccup always gave Astrid when she punched him, but it seemed like a believable enough course of action.

Seeing that Celty seemed to trust Shizuo's word and seemed also to be much more relaxed, Toothless ventured a curious gurgling sound toward the pair, taking a tiny step toward them. Okay, now that you're done punching each other and brandishing light posts, can I say hi?

"Yeah. He's not bad. Don't know his name though."

Toothless was about to get his wish. After the exchange of Celty, he turned towards Toothless and nodded his head toward her. "This is Celty," he said to Toothless.

If Toothless were to be given a signal to come on and say "Hi", that was pretty much as good as any from Shizuo.

Not bad? Well if Shizuo already met him, though something like this here was quite.. not expected was probably one way of saying it. She couldn't say odd since, she herself wasn't human after all. Her attention is back on the dragon before she gives a curious tilt, could he even understand them? It was a question she typed onto the PDA to show Shizuo once more as she glances between the two while Toothless took a step forward.

It seemed like he was waiting for the 'okay' to get closer, which now that she thinks about it he had been that way from the start. Was he afraid of startling her? By the way she reacted he must have known something was up, it almost seemed silly of her to mistaken him for an alien.

This was definitely something she couldn't wait to tell Shinra about. With a tentative hand, she raises it and beckons the dragon to get closer.

Looking from Shizuo to Celty and back a few times, Toothless carefully began to amble toward the two of them, making a pleased sort of gurgling sound that one could assume was meant to serve as a greeting. He paused a number of times, gauging each of their reactions to make sure it was still safe to approach, until he was finally just barely close enough to Celty to where if she stretched her hand out the rest of the way, she could touch him. He kept his neck stretched forward and his eyes wide, glancing back and forth between the two. He made another guttural sort of crooning sound, butting his head forward as though asking to be pet.

why is every thread with Toothless cute? Oh wait, it's Toothless. xD hatesviolence October 20 2010, 21:56:09 UTC
Shizuo only stood there. By now, the light post he had before was standing upright against the sidewalk, and he was leaning against it casually as if it were a normal walking stick.

Upon seeing Toothless stretch his head out and giving both he and Celty inviting looks to pet, Shizuo only stared at him puzzled.

"...I think he wants us to pet him," he said, glancing at Celty. He had tried to pet him once before, though it was more of a reflexive action back then. At that time he hadn't, because common sense dictated that petting a strange dragon you meet on the first day was probably not a good idea.

So after a moment of some confusion and debate, Shizuo slowly reached out and placed a hand on top of Toothless' muzzle. At least if he had misread the dragon's intent, it would be his hand chewed off instead of Celty's.

YEAH I keep d'awing over how cute this is ;; headsomewhere October 21 2010, 01:36:59 UTC
Celty was sure by now that Toothless had been more than careful of approaching them, by the way he paused a few as he came closer. Either he was being careful for himself or for her and Shizuo, in any case it at least allowed her more time to get use to the thought that this was not an alien. She tilts her helmet towards Shizuo at his words, bringing her own hand to her chest as she watched Toothless bring his head closer and emitting noises.

He wanted to be petted? Well, that was something dogs or cats would come up for, she didn't think a dragon would. Still, by the way he stared at them and nudging his head into empty space.. She watches Shizuo settle his hand there, nearly fretting over the thought of earlier when Toothless had opened his mouth.

After a moment though, it seemed fine enough so she does the same though smoothing her hand over the top of his head much like as if she was petting Shooter's neck or a cat. It was a lot more cuter now that she thought about it.

Toothless' eyes slid closed when Shizuo rested his hand on his muzzle and he crooned appreciatively. Yay, pettings! He butted his head up under Shizuo's arm a bit, slightly brattishly demanding additional pettings up until the point that Celty's hand joined Shizuo's. His eyes opened again and he looked quizzically at her, then crooned again, tilting his head to make a distinctive sort of purring sound into the affection.

Oh yes. Dragon's got bitches.

"...! Hey--okay, I got it," Shizuo said with a small laugh after Toothless butted his arm. It was a bit strange, and he was again reminded of a dog...or cat. They both kind of did the same when they wanted pets. But Toothless was a dragon, so this was like supersized.

He was in the process of giving the dragon some more -- albeit awkward -- head pats when Celty joined in. Once Toothless started purring, or at least, something like it, he glanced at her. "...Do dragons always act like cats?"
