The vampire was looking over what he had to offer meal wise then decided to just ask her what she wanted when she got there. They usually had any sort of ingredient they needed for a meal since Alice was so dutiful in getting groceries.
He had one of the cook books out just in case he needed to make something if it already wasn't made. He still wasn't the best cook, but he was learning! And he could at least make a decent dish.
Takuma's sensitive ears picked up on the sound of the approaching footsteps on the porch before she knocked since he was listening out for them. Then, her voice followed the knocks.
"Coming", he said, walking from the kitchen to the front door to answer it.
Opening the door, he saw the small girl and opened the door further, gesturing her inside.
"I'm glad you could make it. It's no good for you to be hungry", he said in a welcoming voice.
Takuma waved a hand, dismissively. "It's not a problem at all. Now what would you like to eat? We've got a lot here.", he said. Then he took a look at the cookbook.
"Hmmm...or maybe the real question is what can I cook?", the blond said, letting out an abashed chuckle and rubbing the back of his head. He was still new to the whole homemade food thing, after all. The only thing he could make well was sushi, okonomiyaki, and sandwiched. Or, well, anything else one could just slice up. He was good with a knife at least.
He looked over at her, waiting for her to answer. He'd give whatever she wanted a shot. He just had to pay extra attention to what he was doing.
>_< I derped. The cottage he lived in is cottage 24. XD He just goes to cottage 20 so often...not_my_grandpaOctober 16 2010, 22:11:20 UTC
"Ramen..." He could do that. He was actually thankful she requested something so easy to cook. But there wasn't anything "instant" here. Everything was normally made from scratch or at least partially made from scratch.
"All right. I'm sure I have some noodles around here somewhere", he said. He was the one that stocked the house with Japanese goods, anyways. He went into the pantry and pulled out a bunch of curly egg noodles. Then got a large pot from in one of the cabinets.
Now for the broth...
He started to get to work in the kitchen, gathering the ingredients needed for a nice ramen.
"Make yourself at home, Taiga-chan", he said, looking over at her and smiling. "You can sit in the living room or sit here in the kitchen. Whatever you want to do"
Takuma waved a hand as he started to pour some ready-made broth into the pot and set it to a light boil. He knew not to set anything to high anymore. Not after what happened to the pasta he tried to make at D's place. He would rather wait longer for something to simmer-cook rather than boiling it to hell. It was less messy that way.
Once the broth came to a light boil, he placed the noodles inside and turned the heat up just a smidgen.
"Would you like vegetables in your ramen as well? Ah...I think we have some cabbage, carrots, and maybe celery?", he asked her, looking back. Her feet didn't touch the floor as she sat there on the chair, he noticed.
Going to the fridge, he pulled out a long, thick carrot and went to the chopping board. At first, he peeled the carrot normally, humming as he went along. Then he pulled out a knife.
"Taiga-chan, watch!", he said. He tossed up the carrot into the air above the boiling pot then moved his hand which seemed like one fell swoop. Them bits of bite-sized carrot pieces plopped into the broth. He looked rather pleased with himself after his little knife trick.
Taiga giggled a little, which was a little out of character for her, but it was rather funny, and she felt so relaxed and calm around him, compared to back home when she was more angry and aggressive.
"Well done," she smiles, and claps her hands together, "You are really skilled, aren't you?"
Takuma aimed to please. He was good at getting a rowdy crowd of vampires to settle down, so making sure a young, human girl was feeling nice and relaxed was nothing for him! Besides, he was glad she was able to make herself at home. If she wasn't, then he wouldn't be being a good host.
He set the knife down and winked. "I'm good with sharp objects. It comes with a bit of practice, though", he said.
He then gave the noodles a good stir now that the carrots sat on top, mixing them into verything.
She tried to think about the best way to explain it in her head, without shouting at the guy and accusing him of this, that and the other, she just didn't want to alienate him.
"I.. I am confident in my wooden sword skills, but... I haven't used a real sword before."
He nods slowly. So she wasn't proficient, but she's had practice. He started to nod quicker.
"How about I teach you how to use a real one sometime? If you'd like, of course. You'll probably get so good that you'll start slicing vegetables in the air in no time!"

She seemed nervously, and her voice was lower than normal, maybe because she was still embarrassed that she accidentally send that voice post.
But she knew that he wouldn't make fun of her for it, or at least, he seemed like that sort of a person.

She did love her instant ramen after all, and well, she felt a bit cold, so having something with a hot soup base suited her just fine.

She went over to a chair that was in the kitchen and climbed up onto it, since it seemed a bit high for her, and she then just watched him curiously.

She didn't really like that her feet couldn't touch the floor, but she swung them softly and gently like a child as she waited.

She didn't know if that was a good or bad idea, she might hurt herself, but there was no harm in asking while she watched as he worked.
She also wondered if she could learn cooking tips from him, so she could cook for herself.

"Oh definitely! I use a sword as well! A katana to be specific.", he said in a chipper tone.
"How advance are you in sword play?", he asked.

"Really?!?", she almost squealed out, "I.. I would very much like that."
She had been wanting to learn how to properly use a sword.. for like forever (or at least it seemed like forever to her).
It would be a good way to deter anyone who called her names though, that was for sure.
