[walking along with his three pack mules...housemates, on their way to one of the orchards down in Espoir]

Alright, so we've gotta get as many apples as we can carry. And we'll check out the pumpkins, too, and whatever else they've got. Only get stuff that looks good, alright? If one of you brings home shitty wormy fruit or something, I'm kicking your ass.

[...is bossy. :| HE'S EXCITED OKAY. >.>]

*has his arms hooked behind his back, holding his empty basket* It should be fine as long as we just pick them off the trees and not ones from the ground, right?

Oh! *notices the pumpkin patch in the distance and grins, excited at the prospect of pumpkin pie and carving lanterns...

*...though his face falls just as quickly when he notices a scarecrow standing right in the middle of the patch* ...I forgot about those guys. *shudders, glancing around to make sure they aren't going to be surrounded unexpectedly by an UNHOLY ARMY OF SCARECROWS*

Yeah, yeah, whatever, cook.

[He's actually carrying four deep baskets, two in front and two in back, slung over each shoulder by a connecting rope. Like saddle-bags, now that he thinks of it. 8| How'd he get conned into doing this, again?

He gives the scarecrow a stink-eye, glad for something to take out his sulk irritation on.]

If it tries anything I'll cut it in half.

Leave it alone, it ain't gonna do anything. Probably.

[leads them through the entrance to the orchard, answering Luffy's question over his shoulder] Animals will get 'em most likely, so they won't go to waste. Stick to the trees, got it, Luffy?

*lets out a low whistle as they near the trees and he finally takes a good look at the laden branches* Oohhh, wow, those trees are really full! The apples look nice and big, too!

*breaks into a jog and reaches up to pluck an apple, examining it briefly, then taking a large bite--just to test it, of course. there's a soft satisfying 'crack' as he bites through the skin into the crisp apple; a trickle of juice begins to dribble down his chin, though he quickly catches it with the tip of his tongue* Oh man. It's really good!

[He said if it tried anything, cook. ...Maybe he chooses a spot near it to set down his baskets and grab his first apple in the hopes that it will try something, but that's neither here nor there. >_>

Said first apple is a green Granny Smith, and when the scarecrow disobligingly behaves itself at Zoro plucking it, he crunches into it out of disgruntlement.

His eyebrows go up almost immediately at its refreshingly sour bite, but he disguises it quickly.]

...Hn. Edible, I guess.

[Not quick enough, marimo. Sanji definitely caught that look and he's sending a smug grin your way before going over to snatch up one of the baskets that Luffy dropped.]

We're here to pick apples, guys. [He's totally reaching up to pluck one off a branch and take a bite himself, though.] Not eat all of-holy shit, that's good.

[has a *___* moment and proceeds to finish off the rest of the apple in Luffy-esque speed]

*yeah, yeah, Sanji; he knows* *puts his basket down and starts picking with both hands, holding the apple in his mouth and pausing to take a new bite every once in a while. he figures the faster he fills his basket full of apples, the faster he can go and start looking at pumpkins...assuming that scarecrow doesn't try anything funny. at least the things seem to be behaving themselves while they pick apples, so maybe the pumpkin patch will be safe too*

*oh hey, what is that mysterious sound? WHY IT'S THE SOUND OF SILENCE as Usopp currently has an apple stuck in his mouth. enjoy it, it won't last too long*

[...Oh shut up, cook, so it was good, what do you have to be smug about.]

Tch. What were you saying about not eating 'em all.

[Zoro throws his apple core off into the distance, then puts his baskets down and starts picking apples and tossing them in over his shoulder fairly indiscriminately. The faster this gets done, the sooner they can get out of here, right? ...What do you mean, he should check their quality and he might be bruising them? >_> Apples in the basket are apples in the basket.]

I had one, that's hardly ALL. [...biting into another one as soon as he finishes that sentence-shut up, they're good, okay?-and then starts filling up his own basket]

[steadfastly ignores Luffy and Zoro just tossing and dropping their apples into the baskets, because he doesn't want to be a nag, honest, but a few minutes of their SHITTY CARELESSNESS has his eyebrow ticking]

........GUYS. Watch what the hell you're doing, all the fruit is gonna have shitty bruises on it!

The hell does it matter if they're gonna be chopped up for a pie, anyway?

[Still tossing in the same fashion. It's economical. :|b]
