[And this would be something called a Ken. Messy hair, grimy clothes - the heat saw him trading his pajamas in for shorts and a tee-shirt, which right now isn't much of an improvement - and bare feet.

[Ken has, after his little adventure with the trees, finally managed to find his way back to solid ground. Unfortunately he hasn't found a lot else and sadly this includes both drinking water and anything to store it in. He's attempting to remedy both these points - he knows there are streams round here, he could see the breaks in the tree lines before; it's just a matter of finding one - when he hears a noise in the bushes and snaps to attention, tensing. If he's lucky that's gonna be something to eat, if he's not lucky--

[Yeah, he's not going to be lucky. Never is, really. When he catches sight of Vincent he almost wishes he'd taken his chances with the dinosaurs. At least those things don't try to annoy you to death. He straightens, though he doesn't look like he's about to relax.]

Oh, hi.

[Why does he never meet anybody nice at ( ... )

[And what a sight that is. Bare feet and grimy clothes -- he wrinkles his nose at that, for it's a distasteful thing, to be so dirty this time in the morning. However, he certainly can't fault the other. The circumstances are, after all, circumstances, and circumstances certainly can't be helped.

Walking closer, he raises a hand in the gesture of peace while simultaneously raising the other to cover an open-mouthed yawn.]

Hello, Mister... Ken, was it? Isn't this a fortuitous meeting.

You could say that.

[Flatly. He says this flatly.

[Of all the people he could have run into at a time like this wouldn't he just have to get Vincent. Vincent hasn't actually done anything to him yet aside from call him up at the worst possible moments and irritate the Hell out of him, but that was quite enough for Ken to be getting along with, thank you oh so very much.

[Honestly, he could quite happily have never given the guy cause to do anything more than annoy him over the phone. He didn't really want to meet Vincent at all - certainly he didn't want to meet him like this.

[Ken doesn't miss the nose-wrinkle or the look of mild distaste, and they both leave him varying degrees of irritated. What's this guy's problem? They're stranded in the middle of a damn jungle. What's he supposed to look like, an Armani advert?]

What's that look for?

[He doesn't have much of an opinion on the other, merely that he is scruffy, and that he has an intriguing connection to a certain 'Takatori Mamoru', which seems to have also captured the attention of a certain Xerxes Break. And whatever Break deems interesting enough to play with, he will certainly follow suit.

Toying with the other's friends is even more enjoyable of a pastime, he finds. Friendship is such a delicate thing, and very little can pull and tug at the strings which bind.

Oh, and my friend would like to express undying love for your Ken for that last Armani line there. And I completely agree. You are an amazing Ken. *A*

He tilts his head.]

Oh? Whatever look are you referring to, Mister Ken?

You know what look.

[No, not backing off about this. Ken is, after all, nothing if he's not stubborn. He's disinclined to cut this guy any slack simply on general principle even without Vincent acting like he's somehow lowering the tone of the prehistoric jungle they've both fetched up in by showing up in his nightwear. He's definitely not impressed by the head-tilting innocent act.]

Did you want anything? Cause if you didn't I'm gonna be going back to trying not to die.

[ooc: and oh wow, thank you so much for saying that about my Ken! I'm so glad you like him.]

[And Vincent is one of those people who really carry no pretenses at all. Have a small laugh, Ken.]

I suppose I do, Mister Ken. I didn't mean any harm in it at all, but it's all right if you take offense.

[At his next words, however, he lifts a hand delicately to place at his lips.]

Now that I think about it, there is one favor that I would like to ask of you, Mister Ken. If you would humor me?

[And that small laugh, of course, just takes Ken from 'slightly irritated' to 'definitely irritated'. If there's one thing he hates - well, actually there are many things that leave Ken bridling, but right now he's mainly thinking of this one - it's the feeling that he's being made the butt of some near-stranger's private joke. He responds the only way he can think of: he frowns, quite visibly bristling.]

Sure you didn't.

[Nope, not inclined to cut you any slack at all, Vincent.

[The next question, though, simply has his frown deepening. Something about this whole situation is striking him as off and it's not the jungle or the cries and roars of the cast of Jurassic Park in the background, either. What kind of favor could this guy possibly want from him? The sensible thing would clearly be to leave it, but Ken never has been very good at leaving things half-done and he supposes he can always turn Vincent down. Right? Right.]

Really. What's that, then?

[Another laugh, and he waves him off. The more visibly the bristling, the happier the Vincent. That is because, simply put, he is a man who takes pleasure in the reactions of others, and right now, Ken is being most amusing. He mentally marks this one down for later perusal -- while stronger than most, he has quite a lot of potential to be exploited, and being made into a chess piece must be the greatest of honors.

For everything is for brother's sake, and if this man doesn't help his brother in any way, then certainly he shouldn't exist. By doing so, he is giving this man a meaning for existence, and that in itself simply must be a very charitable act.]

I have a brother by the name of Gilbert with hair of black and eyes of gold who is also currently meandering his way through this forest.

If you were to come across him, perhaps you may rescue him in my stead?

[If he had any idea about the direction Vincent's thoughts were taking, Ken would have hit the guy on general principle.

[Ken, of course, can't read minds. As it is all he's aware of is the fact that Vincent still seems to be hellbent on finding him amusing, and that's just plain infuriating. He gives the man an angry look, setting his hands on his hips - part of him, and it's not even a very small part, is hoping that Vincent will do something that gives him an excuse to hit him. 'Being intolerably smug' doesn't quite cut it: if it did, Youji would have a lot more bruises than he does.

[It irks him more than he can say that Vincent still hasn't done anything concrete. But just one wrong move-- he thinks he can probably take this guy, if it comes to it, and he's almost hoping it will. He's curious about the 'favor' in spite of himself, though, so he hears him out - his frown only deepening as Vincent talks.]

You have a brother?

[This surprises Ken for some reason; he can't think why. He figures some of that surprise must show on ( ... )

[There is always a catch, sweetheart. And Vincent is very good at catching. Or making catches. Or in this case, hitting on everything that moves. He extends his arm in a humble gesture, and bows his head.]

I would be forever grateful. After all, he is but my precious older brother, and I wish him well.

[Another stretch of his hand, and he reaches into his sleeve slowly, carefully, making a show out of it as though to prevent Ken from mistaking it for heavy artillery. He draws out a first aid kit from the recesses of his sleeve, and holds it out gingerly.]

In return, if I may treat your wounds, Mister Ken?

[Um... okay then?

[Ken supposes that makes sense. Sort of. After all, lots of guys had brothers and could worry about what happened to them, right? Even total creeps did, even people like Masafumi Takatori had brothers and didn't Ken just know it, and that guy had wanted to be Cthulhu when he grew up! Annoying as this guy Vincent undoubtedly was, he hadn't really done anything yet: certainly he hadn't tried to grow tentacles, so that made him less creepy than Masafumi simply by default, right? Right.]

I'm sure and I... it's not a problem really but--

[But what's the catch? Is this the catch? Ken's gazing suspiciously at Vincent's sleeve as he draws something out of it: that look doesn't change when he sees what Vincent has produced. Where in the Nine Hells did Vincent get a medical kit from, out here? Ken doesn't know why but he's disinclined to trust that either, and he backs off a pace as Vincent holds it out, feeling himself starting to smile nervously.]I'm fine, really! I... you don't have to I'm quite all right and Ken is fine ( ... )
