This is going to be tragic, I can tell already. love_lostomates December 29 2009, 02:45:48 UTC
He had no idea what was going on.

The last thing Spain remembered was...pain and death, the deaths of his people as they were killed for being...Nationalist? Communist? He couldn't remember now. It didn't matter anyway. What mattered was that they had all been killed, his people killed by his people, and then everything had gone black.

But now what was going on? He wandered, wide-eyed, through his home. Where was everyone? He had never seen Madrid so empty and...desolate. It frightened him terribly, more than anything had in a very, very long time. Where were his people? What had happened to the buildings? What had happened to his home?

He swallowed, throat suddenly dry. His people were gone. No, no, they had to be somewhere. They had to. He couldn't imagine what would happen if they were-

No.

"Is anyone there?" Spain called, wandering the empty streets, desperation and panic in his voice.

B-baww, Spain ;_; bigassmachete December 29 2009, 02:50:11 UTC
Rena turned around at the sound of Spain's voice. She didn't recognize the voice, but it was better then hearing no one at all. It meant that there was someone else out there. Rena walked forward, trying to find where the voice had come from.

"Hello?"

I'm bawwing at Rena and Keiichi. ;___; love_lostomates December 29 2009, 02:53:28 UTC
A voice! That meant that someone was still here, and the relief that suddenly flooded him nearly made his knees go weak. Maybe he could figure out what was going on...

He didn't recognize the girl, but she had to be one of his people. So he managed a tight, small smiled.

"Hello. Do you...Do you know where everyone is?" Spain asked, managing to keep his voice from shaking too much.

So much angst D: bigassmachete December 29 2009, 03:02:22 UTC
As Spain came towards her Rena's brow crinkled in confusion. He didn't look familiar to her at all, which was strange since Hinamizawa was a small village and almost everyone knew each other. But, this was no time to be picky since there seemed to be no one else around for a long while.

"N-no, I don't. I came outside and everyone was gone."

This event invites it, I think. ^^; love_lostomates December 29 2009, 03:05:58 UTC
His worst fears were...not confirmed. They hadn't all been killed in the war? But a mystery was almost as bad. It wasn't possible that she was the last of his people. It just wasn't.

Maybe she was just the last in Madrid? But how could she not have noticed everyone leaving?

What was going on?

Spain had to admit to himself that he was terrified now. There was nothing in the world more important than his home and his people, and now, before his eyes, his people were gone and his home was crumbling into ruins.

He took a shuddery breath.

"They have to have gone somewhere. They couldn't all just...disappear. Right?"

It really does. This will soon be known as the "Angst Inducer" event bigassmachete December 29 2009, 03:25:13 UTC
The fear in this man's eyes wasn't helping the fear that was growing in her own stomach. Seeing another person had been reliving but they didn't seem to know what was going on either. Rena needed answers and she needed them soon.

"T-that's right. I just don't know where they could have gone to." Even though he seemed as confused as she was, it couldn't hurt to ask.

"Do you know if anything happened here last night?"

Ffff. xD I wouldn't be surprised. love_lostomates December 29 2009, 03:30:59 UTC
Her question made him pause and take a sharp breath. Had it happened it last night? Maybe the massacre had gone futher than just that town, and just that arena?

Maybe...

Spain took a deep breath, and another. Calm, he had to be calm. There was an explanation for this, and he would find it. His people were fine...They had to be.

"There..." He had trouble saying the rest, but he forced himself to continue. "There was that...that massacre." The final sentence was merely a whisper as he tried to keep away the horrible, horrible thoughts that were suddenly plaguing him.

"A m-massacre?" Rena's eyes slowly widened as his words confirmed her worst fears. It was true then. Takano had succeeded in killing everyone in Hinamizawa. She had won. And now it seemed that Rena was one of the only people left at this point. It was taking all of Rena's energy not to fall down to her knees.

Of course she hadn't know about it. Not all of his people could have, and it hadn't happened in Madrid.

Spain paused. How had he ended up in Madrid? That made no sense...

But the thought was brushed away by his fears. "But...they couldn't have killed everyone. They were just...just purging that town...Where is everyone here?"

Rena paused in her panic attack for just a moment. Something he had said hadn't sounded quite right. She looked back up at him in confusion.

"That town? What do you mean? The massacre happened here didn't it, didn't it?"

Spain paused, frowning slightly. Now he was baffled on top of his worry and fear.

"Yeah. The-...It happened in Badajoz, not here." Spain's frown deepened. This was all very confusing.

Wait, what did he say? Badajoz? That wasn't a familiar town name to Rena at all (it didn't even sound Japanese). Part of Rena was relieved that he hadn't been talking about Hinamizawa but now this made things more confusing. Any emotions of fear she'd been feeling were now being replaced with more and more confusion.

"Badajoz? That's not a town around here that I know of."

He blinked.

"Well, it is in Extranjero, not near Madrid."

Spain's confusion was slowly overriding his panic; he was still worried about his people, but well, things were sounding very strange...

Rena's head was now spinning in confusion. Extranjero? Madrid? She had never heard those town names before! And those sounded even less Japanese then the other ones had. This made no sense.

"I've never heard of any of those towns before. How far are they from Hinamizawa?"

love_lostomates December 29 2009, 04:08:42 UTC
Now that was really strange. Spain knew all of his towns and cities, and Hinamizawa wasn't one of them, that was certain.

"Hi-Hinamizawa?" Spain asked, struggling to pronounce the unfamiliar name. "I've never heard of it. Where is it?"

bigassmachete December 29 2009, 04:13:59 UTC
"W-where is it? That's where you are right now." Rena didn't want to jump to the conclusion that he was crazy. For now she was just assuming that he had been traveling and stumbled upon Hinamizawa without knowing where he was.
